To clarify, the Wyse aren’t recognizing the usb stick I’ve created with the USB Imaging Tool. Possibly because the aren’t seeing any files on it.

My idea was to grab a working image of a functioning Wyse and push it back on a not working one. Problem is, I can’t pull a working config and haven’t found a way to download the Thin OS Lite Image from the web.

The firmware files I used for the update, cannot be used as an image for the Imaging Tool.

I’ve tried to generate a bootable usb stick to flash the device, but I didn’t get it to work.

Was trying to generate it with the Dell Wyse USB Imaging Tool. Do you have any pointer what to do? Will look into this again.

    Thanks!

I have installed Lubuntu and other distros on these and other thin client devices, have you tried installing Linux with a bootable USB?

Once installed you can install Remmina and/or other remote access clients.

Also, there is no Wyse Management support for this device.

You mention devices accessing WMS via VPN, have you considered using WMS Pro (Cloud) version. You don’t need to set up any server except for a WMS repository for Windows and Linux images and packages. You can set up a 45-day demo for 25 devices, these devices can be managed on your local network and remote. I am happy to do a one-on-one call with you to see if there are any best practices I can offer.

Correct, Select Groups is a feature in WMS Pro. Check out other benefits included with WMS Pro at https://wysemanagementsuite.com/Thinclients.aspx

I have 2 wyse 5070, neither will show splash screen or go into bios. I’ve tried all of the above. I get an amber power light that blinks 3 times repeatedly. Please help.

Greetings! The answer to your question “What impact on Wyse 3040 CPU and memory usage does BCR it have? I am asking as I have the chance to buy Wyse 5070 ThinOS clients and was wondering if the more powerful client would give users any better experience if it comes about BC”, is yes. The 3040 is designed for task users not using multiple published applications or desktops. The 5070 will provide a better user experience, specifically the version with Pentium.

There is a Dell document that discusses how to configure Citrix Browser Content Redirection policies for Wyse ThinOS 9.

Hopefully, this helps you with your questions.

Just realized H.264 AVC-444 is not supported on ThinOS 9.1. But check the AVC/H264 Hardware Decoder option apparently cause client try to connect through AVC-444. I am a bit confused here.

If i need to use hardware encoder, to my knowledge i must use H.264 AVC-444, does that mean i will stuck with 8.6 on wyse clients?

In WMS did you Enable AVD AVC/H264 Hardware Decoder in Session Settings?

My apologies, wrong image posted will correct. What version of WMS are you using, it may matter now that you are using 9.1 5067.

As I stated it’s working for me.
