Hello everyone,
I got a curious case. I have several Wyse, which lost or forgot their MAC Address. They state they’ve got the MAC 00:80:64:12:34:56. Resetting to factory defaults doesn’t change anything. They are running Thin OS Lite with the Firmware 2.0_512.
What happened prior to this event was upload of firmware 2.0_512 to the ftp server, which could or could not have caused this issue. Later we upgraded to the latest Thin OS Lite firmware 2.6_013 to use WMS.
Any idea how to reset this? On their tag it clearly states a different MAC address.
Thanks!
Have you or can you reflash with the previous firmware?
I’ve tried to generate a bootable usb stick to flash the device, but I didn’t get it to work.
Was trying to generate it with the Dell Wyse USB Imaging Tool. Do you have any pointer what to do? Will look into this again.
Thanks!
To clarify, the Wyse aren’t recognizing the usb stick I’ve created with the USB Imaging Tool. Possibly because the aren’t seeing any files on it.
My idea was to grab a working image of a functioning Wyse and push it back on a not working one. Problem is, I can’t pull a working config and haven’t found a way to download the Thin OS Lite Image from the web.
The firmware files I used for the update, cannot be used as an image for the Imaging Tool.
Alright, figured out how to get the Imaging Tool to work.
The USB Stick wasn’t found, because “Boot from USB” was disabled. Since then I got one Wyse working with a ThinOS 8.6 File, the others are getting error code 233. Which means, I don’t have the right version. But the question is, how do I get the Thin OS Lite Version as an Image?
Pulling the image/file from a working Wyse gave me the error code 300.
Any idea what to do next?
