September 16, 2020 at 3:33 pm in reply to: Autologon / SSO to Azure AD Authentication logon prompt (ThinOS 9) #53070
Hi Brian,
Good point about the MFA app and approval.
I need to the auto-login to Azure AD Auth. working in remote but secure/whitelisted locations where the service Active Directory accounts used by the Wyse clients are NOT prompted for a second factor or approval. This can be done with Azure Conditional Access.
Can you think about any workaround for this without using Netscaler?
My issue is that authentication in Citrix Cloud/Workspace can only be set globally for all users, so I don’t see a way to exclude some service AD account from Azure AD authentication and use them without MFA (after locking them down..).Regards,
Are you saying that MS Teams is not working correctly on 3040s with ThinOS 9.0.2108 ?
I am asking as this is what I found in 9.0.2108 Release Notes:
Fixes & Enhancements
New and enhanced features:
– Supports Microsoft Teams optimization with audio, video, and screen sharing features on Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and Citrix Workspace App.Regards,
June 17, 2020 at 5:11 pm in reply to: Wyse Management Suite (2.x) and support for 8.0_512 FW (V10LE, C10LE) #52401Thanks Thomas!
I was advised by Dell Support that in ThinOS 9.0.1136 it is not possible to hide the taskbar.
Has anyone from you guys managed to do this?
What a joke, this is a fundamental feature of thin clients…Hi Kramar,
Did you get this issue fixed in the end?
Thanks,Hi Kramar,
Please let us know when you get any feedback from Wyse Support about it and when there is a fix for it.
I am also interested in what is causing this. Thanks,
November 14, 2019 at 2:32 pm in reply to: V30LE/C30LE write protection and WDM server IP change #51213Thanks Thomas,
Do you have any idea why updated WDM IP address reverts back to the old one after logging off administrator? I am not aware of any write filters on V30LE/C30LE devices .
November 7, 2019 at 5:47 pm in reply to: Point ThinOS device to Citrix cloud – MYCORP.cloud.com & Virtual Apps Service #51186Another question in this topic guys, if I may.
When ThinOS 9 is released and clients can authenticate directly to Citrix Cloud (e.g. MYCORP.cloud.com) how this would work from security point of view? I mean, I don’t want users to use 2FA every time they log in (just username & password), while MYCORP.cloud.com is a publictly available website. Would there need to be another security mechanism in place like certificates?
What I need to achieve it that users log in to their apps via Wyse clients exactly the same way as they do know when using on-prem Storefront/Citrix farm (just username & password) BUT use MYCORP.cloud.com instead or any other PUBLIC Storefront server.
The reason is that I have to install (Wyse) thin clients in the location where there is no VPN or any other on-prem infrastructure. Let’s say I ship a client to someone working from home and that person connects to Citrix apps just with username and password.
The requirement is to replicate what can currently be achieved with Windows 10 and Intune where on first user logon, the laptop is joined to Azure AD and users log in to Windows with their Azure AD credentials WITHOUT VPN as they would if they were in the office.
If I cannot achieve this with Wyse clients and Citrix, I will have to go with Windows 10.October 25, 2019 at 5:44 pm in reply to: Point ThinOS device to Citrix cloud – MYCORP.cloud.com & Virtual Apps Service #51100Thanks for your input Brian, good point about Azure MFA (for public Citrix Storefront). My current workaround for it is to use on-prem StoreFront servers and point them to on-prem Citrix Connectors which then speak to Azure based VDAs via Citrix Cloud.
However, as I mentioned, ideally we don’t want to have to rely only any on-premises resources and go stright to the cloud. For this reason I am thinking to go with Windows clients and MS Intune.
Looks like Wyse needs to catch up in this area. It’s a share I have to tell the business I work for “we cannot do this with thin clients”…
October 25, 2019 at 2:35 pm in reply to: Point ThinOS device to Citrix cloud – MYCORP.cloud.com & Virtual Apps Service #51089Thanks Thomas!
I can see this issue in my environment from time to time.
So far I have not managed to establish where the issue is.
Making DHCP lease time longer may a be workaround as this happens when renewing a lease.Hi Thomas,
Should all remaining (other than ELO & Dell) touch screens work via ThinOS with Generic USB redirection and relevant “Client USB device optimization rules” in Citrix Policies?
I have many industrial touch screen cabinets in my environment (obviously, not supported by ThinOS) which currently use Z90D7s, I would like to swap them to 3040s if possible – do you see any potential issues with that?
Regards,
Guys,
As we are waiting for EDT to be available in ThinOS, I was wondering if any of you know, or tried to check in practice whether existing ThinOS 8.6 can benefit from recent HDX improvements introduced in Virtual Apps and Desktops 1811 described here:
https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2018/12/17/turbo-charging-ica-part-2/Regards,
OK so it means it’s limited to DTLS audio as it says “DTLS audio limitation” in: https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/wyse-thinos-maintenance_release-notes11_en-us.pdf
I was not sure whether it is actually limited to DTLS audio or it excludes it…
Hi guys,
Anyone tested EDT on Wyse 3010/3014 and 8.6_B013?
It looks like it is now supported. It’s strange it’s so quiet about it…
I am just trying to set it up but get “Protocol Driver Error”. -
