hi Ek,
May I know how did Symantec performed after your installation? one of our customer is experiencing low memory warnings after installation. they are using D90D7 with 16GB Flash and 4GB Ram.

hi cg,
happy to inform you just resolved this problem. thanks to this site:

I was too busy researching on other Wyse products working for technical support here in my country. found out this solution few months ago but wasn’t able to work on it immediately. thank you very much for your unlimited support and more power.

Hi CG,
here’s the details:
ftp server IP: 10.0.0.12
ftp WNOS.ini Path: C:InetpubftprootWyseWNOS
file server/path: 10.0.0.12/wyse
username: no settings
WDM WTOS preferences[Enable Return FTP/INI at check-in] checkedkeith
That’s one of the settings too… it was set to be protected 🙁 the privilege level is none, so the option reset to factory defaults was hidden.
if i could upgrade the firmware, would it reset it to factory defaults? or is there a usb imager for s10?
keith
Happy New year to all!!
hi CG,
I have not set any user name on my wnos.ini. does declaring username causes this problem? i was also testing the username that time but i could not recall if that caused the problem.
is there another way to reset it to factory defaults except using G key? I wasn’t able to declare the enableGkey when i created the wnos. i never expect that it could get this kind of problem.
yes I have a wdm but not the enterprise model. I have the latest version 4.7.2.

I have set the terminal to 10.0.0.12wyse and have placed my wnos.ini file in c:inetpubftpwysewnos and with my confusion, i have created a copy of the wnos.ini outside the wnos folder. Another thing got me confused is that i have another s10 unit with the same network configuration but it works out fine. it accepts the wnos.ini configuration.
I have remembered the first step.doc, it needs to configure ddc but i don’t have the WDM enterprise model. can’t figure out to download the trial version.
thanks,
keith
Hi CG,
I’m completely frustrated now with S10. have not received any reply from wyse yet for the firmware. I have tried reading the first steps but it seems in this situation it can’t be applied. I can’t reset the terminal with G key because it wasn’t declared in wnos.ini before it got problems. I could not reset it also with shutdown & restart & restore to factory settings because the terminal was set to lockdown with privilege=none..
here’s the event log of the s10.1: System version: 6.2.0_08f (ROM: 1,14i)

thanks CG,
just found out that my server is infected with a network virus named conficker.a, have not tried fixing the S10 yet, had a busy day. but could it be possible if the s10 can be infected also with the virus? as i have understand conficker.a virus spreads through network which cannot be identified in the process and infects other pc without antivirus notification. and may I know if what’s the latest firmware version of S10? I’ve got 6.2.0_08 is this the latest version? by the way as I have remembered i had last set autoload=2 so it was set to upgrade the firmware only, right? if i could get the server fixed would it override the autoload settings from WNOS? and lastly, what is Hserver? the unit is searching for it.
