Thanks for the suggestion nstaab.
I just double checked and with the new ThinOS 9 settings in WMS that isn’t even an option that I am aware of. The only USB redirection I have set is for an external USB DVD drive that I never did get working. It used to work in ThinOS 8.6, but then only in certain virtual machines and not others. In ThinOS 9.anything I have never seen it work ever, it just never shows up in the virtual machine.
Also, just to clarify, the ThinOS 9.1 thin clients both worked initially for something like a few weeks before they suddenly just stopped working. If it was a settings issue I doubt they nor the other ThinOS 9.1 clients I have that have not (yet anyways) developed this issue would have worked ever in the first place.
I am of the strong belief that this is a bug in ThinOS 9.1.1131 and am hopeful a future update will help, but who knows when the next update will be released or if this will be fixed in it…
Thank you for confirming the password requirements ConfGen!
I just double-checked my password and it does meet the criteria, so at least I know for sure that lack of password complexity that is not the root cause of my VNC connection issues.
I have been looking everywhere in Dell’s support documentation and cannot find anywhere what the VNC password complexity requirements are for ThinOS 9.1.
To quote from a previous post:
“We had this issue as well and found that our password did not meet the requirements for the new firmware. We had to set a new password that met the requirements and it worked after that.”
What are these new requirements please? For some reason I just cannot find them anywhere!
Thanks in advance!
