Where exactly are these scripts? Normally I just highlight a device, right-click, select ‘Get Device Image . . .’ and wait for it to perform.
This results in a 9V90.i2d file and a small crc.txt file and previously this seemed to be enough to download and upload images.

I left it all night and nothing had changed by today.

That’s simple. I wish Wyse could explain things so easily. Thanks.
I did that copy and saw the package scheduled in the Scheduled Packages folder. At the V90, I logged on as administrator and hit FBWF Disable (is WDM supposed to look after that bit?) and rebooted the Wyse and the package entry disappeared from the Scheduled Packages folder.
Problem is, I then go back to the V90 and discover that no change has been made. It’s still the old image. I must have missed something.
Logging preferences are set to report to the System event log and I see nothing in there to suggest a failure.
The V90 is accessible on the network, in that I can log in to it and connect.

If I set up a central WDM server at HQ, can you confirm that I can use the workgroup edition, as you said, or would I actually need the Enterprise edition?

Also, is there any advantage installing a ful SQL 2005 application on that server, rather than using MSDE? Is there anything in the SQL tables that we can access that we can’t see in WDM itself ?

Can the image be transferred without WDM?
Let’s say a V90 is delivered to a remote location with factory defaults and after a user (non-technical) connects it to the network, can the modified image be transferred from a local server (using scripts for example)?

Is there a document anywhere, or can someone explain the requirements to me simply, of the boot process of a V90 device with XPe – after switching it on, what are the necessary actions that take place to get it fully functional? It’s this very basic stuff that the documents are not clear on (for me, anyway).
    Thank you.

Thanks. That’s got me a little bit further.

    Thanks TT.
Right now, the remote site has no IIS set up, so no ftp or web services. The V90 communicates with the remote server (all on the same network) and WDM is not installed anywhere. All OK so far.
So now, if I say added WDM Enterprise at HQ, I’m still not sure exactly what I need to add to ‘manage’ the V90 devices from HQ.
Can I get away without having to install IIS on the remote servers? I’m mostly interested in device discovery, or at least to be able to know when devices go off line or come back on again.
    Thanks.
