I’m having some problem understanding how to apply an image to a V90 device. The help file seems to be different than the actual procedure in WDM 4.5.3.
Basically, I am using a W2003 server with its own IIS / ftp and WDM is installed locally, in workgroup mode. Wyse devices are connected directly to this server through a hub (it’s a test environment).
After successfully discovering a V90, I right-click on it and select ‘Get Device Image’, which after a while places the image, in the form of a 12d file in C:Inetpubftprootrapport…
Now I want to apply that same image to another device on my local network – another V90 that is connected and discovered, but am having trouble with the steps to do it. Can you help?

One quick question in addition – I have two i2d files from different sources. How can I tell if they are the same or different? Would I need to load them on to a device to know, or is there a checksum of some kind to identify the contents?

Many thanks for any help or pointers.

To push your image back to another device simply go to the Package Manager-Images and drag&drop the image to the Device Manager. Now you can select the unit you want to push the image to.

There is no way to identify them.

That’s simple. I wish Wyse could explain things so easily. Thanks.
I did that copy and saw the package scheduled in the Scheduled Packages folder. At the V90, I logged on as administrator and hit FBWF Disable (is WDM supposed to look after that bit?) and rebooted the Wyse and the package entry disappeared from the Scheduled Packages folder.
Problem is, I then go back to the V90 and discover that no change has been made. It’s still the old image. I must have missed something.
Logging preferences are set to report to the System event log and I see nothing in there to suggest a failure.
The V90 is accessible on the network, in that I can log in to it and connect.

Don’t do anything on the V90. It should autoreboot and get the image.
Regardless of which kind the package is, WDM will take care of the writefilter.
Just give the V90 some time to receive the job notification.

I left it all night and nothing had changed by today.
