Dont know what to say. The item has no numbers or names on package from Hong Kong? On the unit is USB TO PS/2 and 501667-001 and HC SD
Item number of 1 that looks like mine is 220237420309.
I did find 1 linux that didnt like it out of 16 linux I have? XPE on my S90 likes it, the 3150SE I dont use USB key or mouse.

I took a chance and it worked, no guarntee?

    Hi,

1st – yes, you can do your own custom image based on the original default Wyse one. Just modify it in the way you like and then use Wyse Device Manager to extract it. Now you can push it to hundreds of other units.

    Regards
    CG

I dont use any of that stuff. I used a floppy to change BIOS and a USB memory stick to install XPe, both of these came from this site. Any way to use USB stick to extract custom image to use as a backup or to push to other units. Like a GHOST backup program on a USB stick?

On a S90L you can install larger RAM and FLASH than ORIG unit had so how does any push program or USB stick handle the extra space?

The trick is to find small apps that don’t fill the flash, you learn quickly how to clean out cached installer files to jam as much in as you can!

    Cheers,

I am mostly hardware. Could you give me a idea on what installer files I could get rid of, and because I will never use the S90 the way WYSE made it for, what other files could I get rid of that I dont need for stand alone mode?

Just finding a PDF reader was fun, some way to large, some way to slow, some not a correct win 32 app, dont install.
    SUMATRA smaller, works fast.

Orig screen saver with stars in space, small. Wallpaper screen larger but ok.

While online I always have internet radio playing with built in media player. Still cant believe how great sound is after all linux I tried had no sound and no help from forums to get sound?

Thanks!!!! I now am admin and that opens XPe to be almost like XP.
Just found out the green dot means the flash drive has a write protect. Thats why the Favorites never stay and why unit needs no protection because nothing can write to IDE flash drive. Admin can turn off green dot so updates, downloads, Favorites can be written to flash IDE. Things like cookies are on a small ram drive that goes away when unit shut off.
Clock has no BATT so a on line service sets clock at start up.

These small units are starting to be FUN

One of my 3150SEs is running CE5, or so it says? The addons button in control panel says 12,596KB free under flash? When I go to wyse.com, software downloads, add ons for 3150, MEDIA PLAYER, system or IE says not enough free space to download?
I dont get it as always? Media Player isnt larger then 12,596KB is it?
I can stick in a USB stick with LINUX, go to same spot and download file. I could now, if I knew where, put that file in the CE flash, but then how would CE start it and install it????
Why does this stuff have to be so different than anything else?

My S90 came as a board, no case, and no normal OP system in flash IDE.
It has 512meg flash IDE and 256meg ram.
It now has case no feet, and no I/O back plate with a puppy linux in flash IDE.

This linux runs super slow on this system but it works.

I just want to surf the net with this S90 what can be loaded in and how?
Anything from WYSE or this forum? How could it be loaded in?

With net boot it looks for

    MAC ADDR 00 80 64 56 B1 02 ??? It never finds it?

    Unit has orig BIOS.

I used a BUFFALO DN4333-S512 PC3200 ram and it works fine, it clocks down to the PC2700 spec.

    THANKS FOR THE PICTURE!!

There are sites that let you store pictures that also make links for you so you can show those pictures on web sites, fourms, ect without it using up any room on the fourm. Thats what I use for pictures above.

What do you have for sale?

I got the board in the picture and its a S90? I am going by amount of ram and flash. So this is now in S90 section.

I am interested in the pictures, thanks.
Also how hard was it to replace the ram chips? Getting the old ones out can be easy but now what type to put back in? I think those had different width data buss but in same package, 4, 8, 16 width buss but same number of pins? Then a low watt solder iron and thin solder?
What chips did you use? Any info on the non stardard 40 pin IDE buss?
Pin out? Power? Can a 1.8 hard drive be wired in, or a cf card with a MICRO DRIVE?
The newer S90s go for way more money but are way better for upgrade.
A newer used unit should go for??
