The S90 I have posted picture of on this web site, its in S30 section, has arrived.

Questions, the bios has 1 simple screen called SETUP MENU? On this page you can
    set password
    set date
    set time
    set boot order
    size video memory
    set power control
    load defaults
    exit no save
    exit save

Is that it, anymore hidden screens? Fireport password works.

The USB boot will boot from what USB items?I have a USB floppy and that boots fine, 1 of my floppies lets me plug in a USB CD DRIVE or a USB HARD DRIVE and boot from that or so it says?

Bios is 1.06 anything better and what would you gain with newer bios?
I see on this site a download for 1.15 bios but that is for the 9150 unit?
Will 1.15 work on the S90? What extra does it do?

Unit has 512meg flash and 256 meg ram. Ram chips are HYNIX HY5DU121622BT-J at 32 meg x 16 with 4 chips thats 256meg bytes.
If the circuit board has A13 going to the chip pads then maybe 64meg x 16 chips could be put in giving 512meg bytes?

Unit came with flash mostly empty execpt for some line test program I did not know how to use? I guess with no case or right to use XPe or whatever the S90 comes with it wasnt put in.

Sound dont seem to work? Any file to test sound on S90?
What sound chip does the S90 use, maybe puppy linux just dont have a sound driver for it and thats why no sound? Or what I think is the sound chip might have a crystal missing Y1, was no sound a option on the S90?

On circuit board inbetween Micro and Flash module are 3 holes that say Battery (J5). Is this the clock battery? Can that be added so clock dont have to be set all the time? Also there is a J14 that says BOOT and on other computers that jumper could be used to get into a larger bios boot screen?

Who made this circuit board? Any docs on the board and its features some that dont seem to be used by WYSE?

It is an integrated AMD Geode chipset. So look at the AMD website for Linux drivers.

My S90 came as a board, no case, and no normal OP system in flash IDE.
It has 512meg flash IDE and 256meg ram.
It now has case no feet, and no I/O back plate with a puppy linux in flash IDE.

This linux runs super slow on this system but it works.

I just want to surf the net with this S90 what can be loaded in and how?
Anything from WYSE or this forum? How could it be loaded in?

With net boot it looks for

    MAC ADDR 00 80 64 56 B1 02 ??? It never finds it?

    Unit has orig BIOS.

    Hi,

Just go to the wyse.com site and download the S90 image. On the page is the Wyse Simple Imager that you can use to load the image with. The wyse knowledge base has a good reference document on its use.

If the unit has the RAM soldiered on board load the image in WSI as “9S90”. If its got the RAM as a removable DIMM then load the image as “9S92”

    Cheers,

I must be doing something wrong?
I go to wyse site find software downloads and only get 9S92 no 9S90
I search for 9S90 and only get a PDF file?
I search for S90 image and only get pictures of S90 and its mounts to include feet that would stand it on its side?
I search for simple imager and get nothing?
Wyse site not easy to get anound on?

What is USB imager project on this site?

Again I would like to surf net with S90 as a stand alone unit.
Linux works but very slow? I am on S90 now and this web site fast, others very slow?

Go to Wyse Download site and select S90.
You can use any of the first six download depending on the flash size you have (1. is only for 512MB, 2-6. is for 256MB) and the language you need.
Just use Wyse Simple Imager and import this image under S90 and not S92 if you don’t have new S90.
    That’s all.

    Hi Denis,

I think you may be over thinking this.

Download the XPe SP2 WFR-1 9S92_S545_512.exe V3.07 V4.01 Build 545 for US & International English and IMPORT it as a 9S90 image to WSI.

WSI is on the bottom of the same page you downloaded the S90 image,

    Cheers,
    -TT

Just to clarify further. S90 and S92 use the same images only the process of getting the images on the units is different. That’s why you have to use S90 option in WSI and not S92 although you are using the “S92” image.

    Hi Dennis,

Please go to the Wyse knowledge base and search the reference guides section for the Wyse simple imager reference guide. This explains how to load the image,

    Cheers,
