Ok thanks. The decision was made to directly connect to the app years ago before I got here. Since I had so much trouble connecting I wondered if maybe Xenapp 6.5 required a different method of connection.
But if directly connecting to a published app works, then I can troubleshoot elsewhere. Network team here I come(and to CCA class 🙂 )
Thanks again
Is connecting directly to the published application the right way or an acceptable way to connect to a 6.5 farm.
Just wondering if I need to focus on getting the ini working as is, or setup a different method of connecting(like http).
I am trying to find a good source of info on the subject.(what all the ini commands mean and how to use them)
Is connecting directly to the app possible/correct?
What is the best way to connect a wyse terminal to a xenapp 6.5 farm. Only 2 apps, ini must log in user automatically, each wyse logs in with a different username(from the ini). Each wyse has its own ini.
I just have a ton of questions and need a good place to get answers. This site is already helping.
It Seems the ini points directly to the Published app.
I am trying to learn as much as I can so I can set this up as it should be. But right now I just walked into this setup. They wanted to migrate to the new 6.5 farm, we started changing the server names in the ini to point to the new farm and I started getting the DNS wins cant resolve “production” error.
I am new to both wyse INI setup and XenApp 6.5. So sorry if I am missing obvious concepts and best practices.
