All this has now been in vain as the system is now working as it should. Thank you for your assistance all the same 🙂
Yes I am using option 161 to point the Wyse terminals to the FTP server, but for the testing I am using a static IP so I can direct the wyse terminal to a different folder on the FTP server.
The test directory I am using is testwyse rather than wyse, would I be right in assuming that the new firmware doesn’t like the naming convention I am using and is still expecting to navigate to wyse? This method worked perfectly for the older firmware, as I have used the directory in the past for testing INI changes.

What I ended up doing was perform the upgrade using the testing directory and then pointed the device back to the live directory, whilst removing the older firmware boot file.
This let the device grab the wnos.ini, so it must be something to do with my FTP setup.
The following is the export of my FTP log, from bottom up you can see the initial power-up. The second two are the restart after putting the update firmware in the directory. After that it appears that the device sin’t hitting the FTP server at all, as there was 3 restarts after the firmware was installed.

I have uploaded a fix for this.
To install the addon do the following:
place the addon in wyse/addons FTP/HTTP folder and install with newaddons=remove-cdmallowed_1_all.deb INI parameter in your wlx.ini.
The addon can be downloaded here:
http://www.freewysemonkeys.com/downloads/Linux/remove-cdmallowed_1_all.debCG
CG,
Awesome! Worked brilliantly!
