This may certainly not be the proper place to post a success story but I thought I would let you know about my configurations and let anyone else looking before purchase of how well this really works.

    Hardware:
Clients: WYSE V10L thin clients with integrated wireless.
WAP: Zyxel NWA 3163 Business Class Wireless Access Points that support load balancing.
Servers: (3) Dell 710’s. Dual Quad core Xeon 5505’s 72 Gig ram each.
Software: Vmware View running on ESX 3.5

Firstly I started with issues using WPA and Radius authentication. I kept having periodic reboots and the logs were filling with re-authentication requests.

I had issues with getting the Time and SNTP straight with the time zones through the wnos.ini.

Once the time and WPA issues were worked out. Everything else just fell together the way it was supose to.

Currently Im only running 50 clients at the present time. I installed (3) of the following access points. Each supports upwards of 150-200 clients. At the present im limiting 20 per AP.

Other than having to plug the client directly in the LAN to get the initial configs this setup works flawlessly for me !!

The speed is certainly there. I see no degration in performance compared to plugging directly into the lan. Setup is a breeze and currently the hardware I chose was all just a really good choice.

I know most are going to snip their noses wondering why I didn’t buy Cisco branded AP’s. Well I really just don’t agree with their now over priced method of having to maintain contracts with them. I choose almost any other vendor and get support for the life of the product that will work just as well and at a margin of the cost.

Try the wireless if you have the need. For me. It works great !!
