hi guys,
any info about this, will v10l support PCOIP , i have fopund a article that they will include this.
if have any info please share .
thanksJanuary 14, 2010 at 9:28 am #17406AFAIK they are still investigating this. It depends on the power of the plattform and on the feasibility. PCoIP needs some processing power.

January 14, 2010 at 11:16 am #17410the P20 it is already available with PCOIP, but it is a zero client , can not be use in the vdi infrastructure ?
January 14, 2010 at 11:29 am #17412The P20 isn’t a zero client. It is a client to connect to a MS TS or a View environment using either RDP or PCoIP.

January 21, 2010 at 4:15 am #17473We have 2x P20 units and were able to get PCoIP connections to work just fine using VMW View.
But we have been unable to make an RDP connection at all.
FYI: IMO PCOIP did not perform as well as we expected in our test. But we have more testing to do.
January 29, 2010 at 10:32 am #17560Nickmancini, could you say a bit more about your testing conditions ? (LAN / WAN, Bandwith, Lantency, and results)
I would like to know if PCoIP could improve our Wan users experience compared to RDP (+TCX).
I’ve asked for a P20 eval unit, but it seems difficult to get one for now.
Thk.
February 1, 2010 at 2:31 pm #17582apologies for the delay in this response.
Server side: Vmware View, Windows XP and Windows7 VMs, Test environment (low load on server).
Client side: P20.
WAN: VPN connection between 2 location each with 15/2 connection. (effective VPN rate: 2 mbps before overhead. Call is 1.75 mbps?)
Low load on both WAN connections.
WAN connections via same provider (Time Warner business-class). Distance between locations: about 5 miles.
Graphics performance was better than RDP, but was not nearly as close to the demo videos promoting PCoIP. More tests need to be done before we come to any conclusions though. will post when we have more results.
We’re still unable to make RDP connections using P20. Very strange.
February 3, 2010 at 9:32 am #17610on the wyse website the P20 is listed on zero clients.
can you please detail a bit about the connection method to View and the configuration of P20.
i can`t find really info data on the wyse site…
thank youMay 31, 2010 at 11:57 am #18455PCoIP is certainly a great display protocol. However in some scenarios of slow remote connections (like over certain WANs) there may be issues where PCoIP doesn’t function quite as well. In those cases, you can complement the VMware View deployment with Ericom Blaze, a software-based RDP acceleration and compression product that provides improved performance over WANs. Besides delivering higher frame rates and reducing screen freezes and choppiness, Blaze accelerates RDP performance by up to 10-25 times, while significantly reducing network bandwidth consumption over low-bandwidth/high latency connections.
You can use VMware View with PCoIP for your LAN and fast WAN users, and at the same time use VMware View with Blaze over RDP for your slow WAN users. This combined solution can provide enhanced performance in both types of environments, letting you get the best out of VMware View for your users.

June 1, 2010 at 7:33 am #18457Hi Adam,
thanks for letting us know, but as you are obviously have experience with the product 😉 you may be able to tell us if there is a client side needed.
Because there is no Blaze implementation on WTOS at the moment.CG
July 12, 2010 at 1:04 pm #18654I have tested the Blaze solution.
We had good results, but it requires a Linux, XPE or CE terminal. No support in WTOS for now, so we can’t use with our V10L. -
