I am trying to use the USB Imaging on a Wyse V90LE. I have tried 3 USB drives with the following results.
Lexar JumpDrive 512MB – I was able to set this up. It boots and loads the software. Unfortunately the drive is too small for the image.
SanDisk 4GB – Yes, I did remove the U3 stuff. I reformatted the drive and loaded the DOS files. I have been unable to get this drive to boot. On boot up the cursor is in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
Lexar JumpDrive FireFly 4 GB – I reformatted the drive and loaded the DOS files. I have been unable to get this drive to boot. On boot up the cursor is in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
I have reread the documentation that came with the USB Imaging software and done some research in the forums without success. Normally I would think I am doing something wrong but I was able to get the 512MB unit working fairly quickly.
In the notes that came with the Imaging software it is documented as being tested with a Lexar JumpDrive FireFly 2GB which is going to be my next purchase if I can’t come up with anything better.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Is it something about 4GB versions that don’t work? Why are some USB drives bootable and others aren’t?
Any help on this topic would be much appreciated.
January 22, 2009 at 5:33 pm #14982Try pressing the “P” key while the BIOS screen is seen. This way you should get a boot order menu. Maybe you have to shift teh USB stick to top there.

January 22, 2009 at 9:57 pm #14984We use Axiom 2GB drive.
However if possible, try and use a laptop, cross over cable or hub with WSI. It works so much faster. @ 20 min to image via USB, WSI does it in @ 5 minutes.
Joe C.January 23, 2009 at 8:54 am #14987Wyse will release a USB imaging solution the next days. I have tested it and it can image a 512MB image in about 2 minutes. Great tool. Stay tuned.

June 25, 2009 at 4:54 pm #16176I am having the same issue using a Sandisk Cruzer Micro 4GB, no matter what software I using, either WYSE software or the software located on this site. I just get the blinking cursor in the upper left.
Goingthin,
Did you ever find a solution to your problem?
June 29, 2009 at 11:14 am #16187I have successfully used
1. SanDisk Cruzer micro 1 GB
2. SanDisk Cruzer micro 2 GB
3. Kingston DataTraveler 4 GB
4. SanDisk Cruzer micro 4 GB
5. Kingston DataTraveler 8 GB
6. SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 2 GB
7. SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 16GBAll are working perfectly with the Wyse USB imaging solution.

June 29, 2009 at 1:14 pm #16190Maybe it has something to do with the removal of the U3 software? It comes on the stick in a CDFS partition, but can be deleted. Is there a certain way that this needs to be removed?
June 29, 2009 at 1:47 pm #16191Go to the Sandisk.com website and download their U3 Launchpad Removal tool.
