I need to flash an S50 and it says the following…
Version: 6.3.2
Build: 40
RAM Size: 116228KB
RAM Free: 64520KB
Flash Size: 62528KBI tried to use wy_sc_6.6.1-03.32m but it never flashes. Looking at it with wireshark I can see it is looking for *.64m. Why is it looking for that when it is a 64Mb unit? The 64m file is supposedly for 128Mb units.
September 17, 2009 at 7:44 am #16622You are not right here. As the extension indicates 64m files are for 64MB flash units and 32m files for 32MB units. There is no 128m file as the 64m file can be used for both.

September 17, 2009 at 2:18 pm #16624At wyse.com (as of 9/17/09 at 10:18EDT) you can download wy_sc_6.6.2.-2_32.exe and wy_sc_6.6.2.-2_64.exe. When you run wy_sc_6.6.2.-2_32.exe the self-extractor says “This file contains Wyse Linux version 6.6.2 biuld 02 for deployment on S50 (Rohs), V50L and V50LE with at least 64Mb of flash and using the FTP upgrade method. Does your unit meet these requirements? (Yes No)” When you run wy_sc_6.6.2.-2_64.exe the self-extractor says “This file contains Wyse Linux version 6.6.2 biuld 02 for deployment on S50 (Rohs), V50L and V50LE with at least 128Mb of flash and using the FTP upgrade method. Does your unit meet these requirements? (Yes No)” I went ahead and tried wy_sc_6.6.2.-2_64.exe anyway and bricked the unit. I just got it back from cintronics and they did not flash it for me. Now I need to try it again and fear I will brick it again.
September 17, 2009 at 2:21 pm #16625Furthermore, right on the download page is says…
2. Linux V6.6.2_02 wy_sc_6.6.2-02_32.exe 6.6.2.02 Image file for FTP upgrade. 64Mb Flash required
3. Linux V6.6.2_02 wy_sc_6.6.2-02_64.exe 6.6.2.02 Image file for FTP upgrade. 128Mb Flash required
September 18, 2009 at 1:20 pm #16630I am 100% sure that the 64m file is for units with 64MB or 128MB flash.

September 23, 2009 at 3:43 pm #16657I sent it back already. The wyse tech claimed that the 64m file will not work with a 64MB flash. Who’s right here?
September 24, 2009 at 7:54 am #16660Can you PM me the name of the techi? I know quite a lot of people at Wyse. Maybe I can talk to him and get some updates.
