    Hey ppl

Currently im using Wyse winterm s10 units (Blazer). I have configured the wnos.ini file with success. The wyse unit picks it up from the ftp server and all is well. Issue: The only thing i want users to do is to connect to their appropriate desktop via rdp and lock out everything else.

At the moment, the privilege is set to low. Users cant access any network settings but they still have access to the ‘system preference’ section. Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,

You can set the privilege=none and this turns everything off. If you have recent 5.2x firmware you can open this a bit to allow users to adjust the screen res and mouse settings,

    Cheers,

Will the users be able to connect to their desktops via rdp when the privilege = none? At the moment, when ‘none’ is set, they have access to nothing, including their connection. Is there a way to give them access to their rdp connection and lock everything else out, or close to everything. Enough so that it users cant play around with important settings. Any ideas?

    Hi dshaun,

you can put a link to your RDP session on the desktop by adding the line
    Icon=default
to your wnos.ini Connection configuration (so within Connect=RDP )

    Regards

    Hey ConfGen
It worked!! Thanks for that mate. So i imagine i would use the ‘username’.ini config file for assigning different workstations/ip’s? Or is there a way to grab the rdp connection that i had placed locally and put on the desktop?

lol maybe i should make myself a little more clearee

Plan: to be able to lock down everything without influencing the user’s ability to log on to their assigned desktop via rdp. (so bar the connection manager)

I have configured an rdp connection locally for the wyse unit for their desktop and i want it to show up for the users, even while everything is locked down

In a nutshell, they can login, nothing more

Hopefully this helps what im trying to get at here. Let us know what u think. Thanks again guys

    Hi,

If you are looking at using a simple Terminal Server Desktop there is an example here:

    http://www.freewysemonkeys.com/site/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=42&ttitle=Desktop_wnos.zip

For a VDI desktop with no broker check this example out:

    http://www.freewysemonkeys.com/site/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=109&ttitle=VDI-NoBroker.zip

If you are testing a VDI delivery you can also look at a connection broker like LeoStream,
