    Hi everyone,

I am trying to install WDM 4.5 (enterprise) using a remote SQL Server…. We have run the installer on the SQL server itself and confirmed that the database was created properly… we double checked by running through the “Manual Database Creation” PDF I found on this site…

During the install when I choose “The Wyse Device Manager Database has been installed on the following server:” I get a “Unable to connect to database” error message after about 10-15 seconds…

Also, there is a drop down with a list of what appears to be all of the SQL servers on our network (domain) and the SQL server we installed the database on is not appearing in that list… I am manually entering it in.

    \SERVERNAMERAPPORTDB doesn’t work
    SERVERNAMERAPPORTDB doesn’t work
    \SERVERNAME doesn’t work

    thanks!!!

    Hi,

Check that the SQL server is running in Mixed Mode not NT Authentication and more importantly Named Pipes is installed on the target SQL server – this may be why it can not find the server when you browse for it,

    Cheers,

we were able to solve this.. not really sure what fixed it 🙂

just ran through the install again on the SQL server and then connected to the database on the client…
