Our environment
Wyse Device Manager 4.9.1

Xenith/C00X on FW: 2.0_105 – 931 devices
Problem
Has anyone had progress setting a hashed password as the SNMPd community string and/or at least hiding the SNMP community string from the event log?
By setting the following parameter in the .ini:
Service=snmpd Community=F00stg1Nini
…the device’s event log spits out what the community string is set to:
SNMP: Community is set to F00stg1Nini
Also if I set a generated hash as the community string (from ConfGen)…the community string is set to the hash text value, rather than the password the hash was created from. I’m really not seeing much documentation for zero firmware SNMP parameters. So it only works as clear text…? Our Security department is not going to let this fly in our environment, having this string in .ini files on our server in clear text and event log.
Yes, SNMP only works with clear text.
