I’m kind of stuck on this one so any help would be appreciated. My online ticket with wyse ended with them telling me my device is no longer supported and I’ve been put on hold from phone support twice for more than an hour.

I have some WYSE 3150se terminals I’m setting up on mobile carts. We already have a couple but they were set up with the actiontec addon and wireless usb devices. Those are no longer sold through CDW so we could not get anymore. After speaking with wyse they suggested the netgear wireless-G usb adapter (WG111T or U).

I added the adapter to the device and it askes for the usb device driver. I installed the Atheros USB addon that I was told was needed but there is no where for me to configure my wireless settings (WEP key, SSID and such) I’ve checked in network and I’ve been through the whole control panel. The device is also still asking for a USB device driver.

How do I add the device driver to the WYSE unit? I thought it would be in the Atheros add on. Also with the Actiontec add on a new icon came up in control panel called Actiontec where I could put in the WEP key and such but the Atheros addon did not do the same.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

what firmware level are you running on? What Atheros build have you installed. Wyse is correct that the WG111T should work fine on 3150 with Atheros addon.
Alternatively you should be able to use Dlink DWL DWL-G132 or Trendware TEW-504UB – 80211a/b/g.
All these need CE 5 build 559 or higher.

    Cheers

We have CE 5 build 559 installed. Atheros is Ver 1.00 (Build 3)

The model number on the Netgear adapter is WG111 but has no letter at the end of it.

I’m hoping not to have to return all of the adapters for new ones, but it’s looking like I may have to.

These are the supported models by b3 of Atheros USB addon:

    • D-Link Airplus Xtreme G DWL-G132
    • Netgear 108Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter – Model WG111T
    • Netgear Double 108 Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter – Model WG111U
    • TRENDware TEW-504UB – 80211a/b/g.
    • TRENDnet TEW-444UB

Don’t know it the missing “T” makes a different in your case. But it is worth a check.
