We have been sending DHCP Boot option 161 to our S50s to point them to the correct FTP server for configuration files.
Today I received one of the new T50s and I’m finding that they do not work the same.
It seems that the S50s require Option 161 to have a data value of the FTP IP address only.
However, the T50s seem to require Option 161 to have a string value of ftp://IP_Address.
I can get the T50s to work one way, or the S50s the other way…but not both.
Does anyone know if this is true or if I have something screwed up? If this is true, any ideas on how to run both models on the same subnet without having to manually specify an FTP server on the local device?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
T50 needs the OT161 as a string. That’s correct.
