Hi
I’m using your config generator (thanks!) and I’m trying to set up a S10 unit to connect to a Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS without much luck.
I would like people to be able to use their domain accounts to log in to the server.
Can you point me in the direction of a document that might help me set this up?
Thanks,
JasonSeptember 2, 2010 at 3:08 pm #18833There is no real way to authenticate against MS AD.
I would recommend to create one RDP connection in the wnos.ini and define tis as autostart.
The user is then presented with the 2008 welcme screen and authenticate there.CG

I think I’ve done that but as soon as the unit boots up and tries to connect to the server it automatically fails and tries to reconnect.
Do I need a seperate .ini file for each user or is the single wnos.ini file sufficient?
Here’s my wnos.ini file generated with your awesome config generator.

P.S. I’ve tested a RDS connection from a Windows 7 machine successfully so I believe RDS has been configured correctly on the Server 2008 machine.
September 3, 2010 at 1:20 pm #18840Set your terminal server licensing to per user. Wyse terminals have problems with per device licensing.
September 4, 2010 at 3:05 pm #18843Check if NLP is enabled on your W2k8 server. This is first supported in WTOS 7 cmin thenext weeks.
And remove the Username/Password statements in your wnos.ini.CG

September 7, 2010 at 3:07 pm #18853Sorry for only responding now. Hectic couple of days.
Thanks for the advice guys.
I’ve made the suggested changes and things still aren’t working.
I suspect that it might have something to do with the RDS server not having any CALs loaded. It’s an Action Pack copy of Server 2008 R2 Enterprise so I was expecting it to come with 10 CALs loaded which it hasn’t. I’ve ordered 5 CALs and as soon as I have them loaded I’ll give this another try.
Cheers,
JasonSeptember 15, 2010 at 1:34 pm #18910Hi Guys
My licences finally arrived and I’ve installed them.
Unforutnatly the Wyse unit is still doing exactly the same thing. It doesn’t give me any errors. It just fails to connect and then retries.
Anything else you can advise me to check?
Regards,
