I have an Wyse V90 and would like to run windows xp pro on it.
I have tried to install it on a external hd but windows xp isn’t compatible with installing on usb hd. I even tried to to streamline the usb drivers into the i386 inf files.
Now I noticed that the flashrom is based in a ide slot. Is it possible to use this slot for an 2.5 inch hd. I plugged a 2.5 drive without additional power cord into it but the wyse v90 doesn’t boot.
As soon as I unplug the ide cable the system starts booting.
    Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe it is the cable. Technically you are right. A V90 can be equipted with a 2,5″ HDD. But there is no room inside to place it.

I find the 1.8 inch hitachi with 44 pin ide interface easier to fit. Cable can be put on backwards and on a poor supply without shut down blow out the drive.
If drive not formated might not see except in bios?
Have had many OPP systems on these drives inside V90, V90L, V90LE.
