Hi,
we bought some Wyse 3040 and now we want to use some devices in multi-monitor mode for RDP sessions (No SPAN since we have 2 monitors plugged in to the devices).
Unfortunately, we have not yet found the right setting to start an RDP session as a multi-monitor. Each time a connection is initialized as Span Mode. But we want the full Multi-Monitor feature, where in the RDP session both monitors are recognized as individual displays. The local Wyse desktop seems to display correctly in multi-monitor mode.
Does anyone have any experience with this and can you give me a hint?Devices used:

May 5, 2020 at 9:02 am #52231By the way, we want to connect to a Windows Server 2016.
May 7, 2020 at 3:59 pm #52244In ThinOS you only have the Span or the Mirror mode.
However, in Span mode apps are automatically aware of the screen and open just on one or the other in fullscreen.
Is that not working for you?CG
May 7, 2020 at 5:12 pm #52248thanks for the reply and the info.
What I would like to achieve is this:
I have configured a simple RDP connection to a Windows Server 2016 and would like to have my virtual desktop displayed on both screens of the ThinClient. In the current configuration, the RDP session only recognizes one large screen (3840 x 1080) spread over both monitors and not two separate screens. So if I start an app in the RDP session it will be started in the middle of both monitors. Is there any way I can tell the RDP session that there are 2 monitors connected and the RDP display is split between both monitors?
May 8, 2020 at 10:01 am #52254Try adding this to your Advanced section:
SessionConfig=RDP ForceSpan=yesand change
Active screens: 1
to
Active screens: 2CG
May 10, 2020 at 11:47 pm #52262I now added the SessionConfig=RDP and ForceSpan=yes to the global ini (is this correct?)
I also changed active screens to 2 (I have set my WMS to german the settings in my original post were translated by a machine translator. The correct meaning of this setting is: On Screen – Here you can define which monitor the RDP connection will use. If the defined number is bigger than the number of monitors connected, the connection display resolution will go back to “Default” and span all monitors.
I also tried with the value 3. By doing this, I get one virtual desktop spreaded over both monitors. When I change this setting to 1 or 2, the RDP session starts only on one paticular monitor.
Do you have another idea how to fix this?
May 10, 2020 at 11:53 pm #52263I have actually one more question:
I changed the setting “Remember last username and/or domain at reboot/shutdown” in the General Settings section.
However, I still have to re-enter the username each time I restart the Wyse client. It doesn’t seem to save it after a restart.
Am I doing something wrong here?
December 3, 2020 at 12:06 pm #53712I am experiencing the same issue.
I have configured these settings in WMS under General Settings:
Remember last username at logoff: Yes, both username and domain
Remember last username and/or domain at reboot/shutdown: EnabledDevices and firmware used:
Dell Wyse 5070 with ThinOS 8.6_412
Dell Wyse 3040 with ThinOS 8.6_412I am using Wyse Management Suite version 3.0 656.
December 3, 2020 at 12:52 pm #53714Check whether there is any other policy configured which contains “Username” or “Default User” parameter.
Even if you haven’t set a value here, WMS will pass the empty string. This results in an empty login dialog, of course.CG

December 14, 2020 at 9:08 am #53830Made a finding.
Under General Settings, I made the following configuration, and now the clients remember the username at reboot:
Domain Name: Empty (Don’t enter anything here)
Remember last username at logoff: No
Disable Domain Field: Disabled
Domain List: example.com (Fill this with your logon domain)
Remember last username and/or domain at reboot/shutdown: EnabledWe have been running this config for over a week without issues.
