I’ve been working with Wyse devices for a couple of years now (mostly CE). I’ve just started a new job where they have about 300 Wyse CE devices and a lot of them are older than anything I have worked with. I have two questions:

Are any of these PXE capabe (Rapport says no)?

Could any of these run Wyse OS/Blazer instead?

3150SE (Rapport says yes on SOME)
    3125SE
    3730LE
    3235LE
    3360SE
    3350SE

    Hi,

    Here is some info:

3150SE – PXE capable – No Blazer conversion (yet)
3125SE – No PXE – Blazer conversion available
3730LE – No PXE – No Blazer conversion
3235LE – No PXE – Blazer conversion available
3360SE – No PXE – No Blazer conversion
3350SE – No PXE – No Blazer conversion

User the ftp upgrade method from Rapport to upgrade all these devices. To recover dead devices use WSI for the 3150, netXfer for the 3125 and 3235. For the older devices use the Compact flash upgrade kit (I have never used this)

I would never recommend using PXE from Rapport to image 3150’s

Oh, and I should say WTOS now as Blazer changed name 😀

    Cheers,
    -TT

Thanks so much. Can you tell me where to get the available Blazer/WTOS conversions?

Its not a free conversion, if you contact Wyse they can sell you a conversion kit which you netXfer on some special code.

I think its worth it as blazer is a great OS (its fast) and next month it will support USB memory disks as well.

    Good Luck!

Thanks again. Any idea of the cost?
