out of disk space for addons?

    I bought a new 64/128 S50 and wanted to add mplayer and flash. No way were they going to fit even after I got rid of unneeded addons. So I bought a new 128/256 S50 and after deleting the same addons it has the same space as the 64/128. I expected loads of free space on the 128/256 model. What is going on? Where is all the free space that I expected?

    Hi Freak,

    try reflashing the new client via PXE. Looks like something went wrong during the image process eg. a 64 MB PXE image was used initially.

    I don’t see different images based on the flash size available for download from Wyse. Am I missing something?

    Hi Freak 8)

    As an easier method use the XXX.64m file via ftp upgrade. This file will expand to use the full flash size of the unit. You can use the newer .64m on the V50L page with the S50,

    TT is right. There is no 128MB image available for S-class only for V-class.

    Maybe you cannot answer this but why do I have to flash these units to use the full memory? Why aren’t they correct when you buy them?

    When you flash a unit via PXE with an image less than your flashsize, the image will not self expand. But this will happen when using FTP upgrade.
    So looks like your vendor just upgraded the units via PXE.

    Well I flashed it via ftp and it worked! Now I have over 50MB available. I used the V50L firmware and was very nervous because a bunch of error messages appeared during the upgrade and then the unit was locked up after it rebooted. One more reboot cured it and it seems ok now. Thanks for all your help!!
