    Hi all,

Very happy I’ve found this forum 🙂

We’re replacing our 500+ PCs with Wyse S10’s and Citrix PSE4.0. So far, things are going very well – very few serious problems and generally positive feedback from the users.

However, one niggling issue is the lack of “notification area” (aka “System shelf”) on WNOS. For example, we use a corporate instant messaging system (Novell GroupWise Messenger). On a normal PC, when the application’s main window is closed, it disappears down to the bottom right of the screen. There’s no equivalent function on the S10, so the application effectively disappears and there’s no way for the user to interact with it other than having the helpdesk reset their session and being told not to close the window again 😕

Does anyone know of a way to introduce a notification area on the S10 – even perhaps a seperate application that can be run under Citrix that would simulate it?

    Hi Ken,

    Welcome to the forum!

I have had this issue before and unfortunately the Blazer currently does not handle task tray items.

The simple answer at the moment would be to look at a published desktops again until this feature is added to PNagent and published apps. Most likely not the answer you want however published desktops are fine in Citrix if setup and well managed.

    Sorry, no better answer yet!

    Cheers,
    -TT

Yeah, I thought that was the case. I’ve got an enhancement request being looked at by Wyse just now, hopefully it’ll be something they give us in a future firmware release…
