I have been able to get thumb drives to read properly on S10 and V10L thinclients. If I remove the thumb drive the window will not refresh and it complains the device is missing until I reinsert it. If I use a media reader and insert the card before I enter my citrix session I can work with the files no problem. If I remove the media from the reader and take pictures, two things are apparent. First, the reader caches the view of the files and even if I close and reopen the view the files are listed in the explorer window. Second, the reader will not update when the card is reinserted unless I remove the cable and reinsert it into the thin client. then it notices the change. Is there a way to get the system to not cache the view of removed media and also note the change on the media without unhooking the reader each time?

it will log when you insert an USB device and also log when a USB device will be disconnected.
July 17, 2008 at 2:55 pm #13511When you use a thumb drive it records the device and file system are connected and disconnected together. When the media reader is used the device is connected but there is no file system until a memory card is inserted. When removed the file system is logged as removed not the device. the device only reports removed when I pull the usb cable from the media reader.

July 21, 2008 at 5:36 pm #13538We have a citrix PS4.0 farm with a mixture of 1200LE, S10 and V10L Thin clients. We are working to make inexpensive powered or unpowered media readers work off the S10 and V10L units to read SD Media from cameras. We have the 6.2.0_8 firmware down and will be testing with it this week. We currently are running 6.1.0_11.01f on the V10L and the S10. The V10L and S10 are WTOS loading the config via FTP

As a side note, since wifi enabled sd cards are out we have stared using these to upload pictures automatically. There is a lot of work involved to get this setup in a business enviornment but for the average user it’s easier to have them work with network shares versus the guide we wrote up for media readers.
