Is there any way to change files on the linux os of my S50 ?
Say for example the host file ?
How do I do this ?
Can I do it from another computer ?
Just found out that I can add host via the control panel and network.
I still would like to find out if I can get to the files on the system.
Hi Flip,
There is a telnet server and utils addons that provides a command shell (ASH). Wyse do not publicly post there (no idea why) but these would do the job. Also if you know where the files are you want to change you can use Rapport to send them.
The Wyse Linux uses Red Hat 9 as a base with the 2.6x kernel and Busy Box.
Ping Wyse and see if you can get the shell, I may be able to dig up some more info on the distro,
Cheers,
-TT
Thanks for the info TT.
I don’t have Rapport, is there another way to change/transfer files ?
Could you be more specific ?
Do I start a telnet session from another computer ?
Di I need users/pasword to do this ?
