When a C10LE device loses wireless connectivity, is there an ini parameter that can reboot it automatically rather than relying on a user to click ok on the error first?
Our C10LE devices occasionally drop their desktop session, leaving them at a WTOS error message, “Connection reset by peer”. Clicking OK causes a reboot, after which the device automatically logs in using a pre-configured user account.
We’ve been through this with our wireless vendor and Wyse SE, and the final determination was that the C10 has a low quality wireless driver. We were able to tweak on both sides to reduce the occurrence, but never could eliminate it.
So, that leads me to the question above. If WTOS would auto reboot on error, at least our users wouldn’t walk up to a terminal that requires a reboot.
Hmm…in researching this question I ran across the TcpTimeOut= parameter. I’ve never tried altering that, so I increased it to 3. I read some folks recommending that change for my symptom.
Early reports suggest that TcpTimeOut=3 has not reduced the occurrence of wireless disconnects. The search continues…
