We recently moved WDM from one server to another and found that none of our images appear in Package Manager.
I confirmed that the images are in the correct directory.
Can somebody help me import my images?

    Thank you.

What did you do with the database when you moved WDM?
The package scripts are stored in the DB…the files are stored in the FTP server. If you moved the WDM Database, you’ll still have the packages…if you did not move the DB, then there is no history of the “registered” packages.

Thank you for your quick reply. Is there any way you can tell me how to check if the DB was moved? or where i could find it? I’m a bit new to this.

Let’s do it the other way round.
Tell us how you have moved your WDM server.

You might be able to help me too with this – looks like having similar issue.

    What we did?

    Had Stanalone WDM 4.51 installed.
Uninstalled WDM 4.5.1 and Installed new Version 4.5.3
Can see packages in FTP root folder
    Can’t see them in WDM
How can i import the Images back to the Current Database.

Hense when reinstalled WDM, Selected Custom and added in a username and password as the default install was coming up with an FTP Verification Credential error.

Any help on this will be good.

    Thanks in Advance

As karaziel already stated. The scripts for the packages are stored in the database. The files/images are stored on the FTP server. Uninstalling WDM will delete the old database and all scripts are lost.
You will have to reregister the packages one by one.
Look in the download section. I think here is a custom script adding old packages back. But you will have to edit it to your enviroment.
What kind of package do you have?

don’t mind that we have lost the scripting stuff – we just want to re-register the packages into the new installed database with out having to re-download as discovered they are pretty much the base packages at the moment….

In WDM when we look at the utilities, or packages and run the wizard – WHAT do i select to browse to my FTP folder to get the image re-registered to my new DATABASE.

    Easy fix for this one….

Go to the wyse.com site and download a S90 image. All you need is the .RSP file. Simply delete the factory Wyse image and replace it with you image you want to import. You can edit the description and you are away!

If you want to change the package name to say “my_image” rename the script to my_image.rsp, open the script and edit the Number=my_image and finally rename the folder under the script to “my_image”.

One of the users created a batch file in this forum to bulk re-create the .RSP files,

    Cheers,

Okay thanks, then a really stupid question:

What are CRC.txt or S90….i2d files ?? This is what is showing in the FTP folder – don’t seem to have rsp’s etc…

The i2d files are the image files, the CRC.txt is simply holds the CRC check value should you want to use a CRC utility to make sure the download isn’t corrupt.

so how can we import these i2d image files back into WDM –
as i have discovered that these are images that are pulled off devices once they had removed adjusted what they wanted and now have the base image that they want any new devices to have. they have been adjusted from the orginal base image.

I am really sorry about this – all you help is very valuable.

If you can confirm for me a possible procedure as i found another post from TT for this.

    – Download Base Factory image from Wyse
    – register new package to WDM
    – Replace the i2d file with my own i2d file

from reading the post i found – it looks to be the way to solve this.

    I will let you know

These steps will work perfectly. However you should edit the .rsp file to change the name an description. Otherwise all reimported images will have the same name.
