Hi, sorry for my bad english, i’m french.
i would like to know the default account and password for the administrator.
I know the visitor account : guest but i need the administrator account to configure the wyse again without reset it by holding G key at startup.Thank you !
June 3, 2008 at 1:56 pm #13151Hi,
If the unit is loading as guest G-Key reset the device and make sure it is plugged into the network.
Once the device has the network enabled it should load as Administrator. With the Wyse Linux we use a remote text file (wlx.ini) to secure the terminal rather than local user accounts.
Does this make sense? Sorry if I am not clear enough,

-TTJune 3, 2008 at 2:08 pm #13156i think I understood.
But how can I edit and see the wlx.ini ?
My wyse will be in library in kiosk mod on firefox, so that’s why I would like 2 accounts (Administrator and visitor). But i didn’t find a fonction to add or remove user accounts.
So about wlx.ini … ?
Thank you very much !
June 4, 2008 at 6:13 am #13163Hi,
Have a look at the wyse.com site under support – knowledge base-reference guides.
What you do is configure the device to download a text file called wlx.ini and this allows you to configure and lock down the device. Its very simple one you get the idea. Where it becomes very powerful is locking down many terminals from one simple text file,

I created my wlx.ini file but how can I tranfert it to the wyse ?
June 4, 2008 at 2:46 pm #13169I have installed WDM. How can i transfert my WLX.ini to my wyse ? Please ! 😥
June 4, 2008 at 11:20 pm #13173Hi you do not use WDM at all, you place the wlx.ini file on a ftp server and point the unit to it. The files can be created from the ConfGen utility.
This PPT is for WTOS but the process is very similar for Linux. Please lokk at the first solution:
