    Hopefully a simple 101 issue 🙄

We have had the firmware update working fine til now.
A couple of months ago updated from XenDesktop 5 to 5.5.
Haven’t tried a firmware update since.

Trying to deploy the 1.7 130 hotfix (currently at 122)

The Xenith Pro are picking up changes to xen.ini no problem –
but just not applying the firmware update.

If I try to browse to the R00_xen and C00_xen files via a browser (IE8) I am getting 404 error. (if I tack an extension to the file eg .txt – it will open)

Any thoughts on what I should look at / try ?
    Have restarted the WWW service.
(yet to try the good old MS fix of rebooting the server 🙂 )

Have you checked the NTFS permissions on the firmware files?

    Yes –
The permissions are the same for the firmware files as for the xen.ini file.
(The only difference being Xen.ini is owned by my admin id due to editting. Firmware owned by Administrators )

    IUSR has Read & Execute
    Users Read & Execute
    TrustedInstaller Full Control
    SYSTEM Full Control
    Administratrors Full Control

ps just downloaded Firmware v2.0 and same behaviour (as expected)

    Solved….

looks like something screwed up the MIME type settings.

Had to re-add the “dot” setting. (looks like may have been changed to .* instead of just .)

    Now is working OK.

    Successfully installs 1.7 130…

However goes through updated for v2.0 (reads R00_xen file) but does not apply…
… but that’s another issue – still investigating that one.

v2.o issue looks like time out on my slow test link.

    OK on production speed.
