Hello,
Has anyone had any success with getting the 7.1 beta firmware working for a Citrix XenApp farm? I cannot get past the login screen. Does not appear to allow me to login via the web interface site I have configured.
I’ve posted on the beta site but have had no response.
Thanks.

Didn’t try XenApp but XD is OK
August 23, 2011 at 1:35 pm #20931I only tested it on our C10LE and it works fine, just some minor issue’s but i hope it will be fixed at the release.
August 24, 2011 at 12:34 am #20933That will have to do for now just to test performance.
We have the C10LE’s also. Did you see any performance improvement with the new FW? Especially around flash?
Thanks.
August 24, 2011 at 8:25 am #20935If you get a chance that would be much appreciated! As a test, play the video on the adobe flash homepage http://www.adobe.com/products/flash.html (sesame street one).
What are the other problems you are experiencing?
August 29, 2011 at 11:11 am #20947Thanks! Appreciate the testing.
We have the same Citrix setup. Xenapp 5 on W2K3. I assume you were testing on LAN?
If I play that flash video on my PC locally there is a much greater depth of sound. It’s all in sync and appears to play very smoothly. If I run from a published desktop on the XenApp 5 farm on C10L the sound is much more basic. It’s clear enough but lacks range or depth. That’s fine. But the video is a little choppy. It appears to be in sync but there are is a drop in the frame rate. I see that you say you use the TCX suite. I wonder if that is making a difference to the quality of the playback?I have not experienced the resize issue with the dual head but that being said we would only run in full window anyway.
September 2, 2011 at 12:31 pm #20953TCX does not make any difference in this testing as TCX Flash is not used in a XA environment like yours.
But it is obvious that that the flash performance is better with a PC. Citrix is using Flash Redirection and that needs a locally installed Adobe Flash Player.
WTOS does not have a local flash player and therefore no redirection takes places. Only a flash acceleration is done which is not as pretty as a full redirection.CG
September 5, 2011 at 3:48 am #20977I tested TCX Flash on our XenApp 5 farm using a C10L with WTOS.
The flash playback is alot less choppy but the picture quality is a lot granier and more course. So it is much more in sync and better framerate but at the expense of a poorer picture quality.
September 19, 2011 at 4:38 pm #21071Hi all. Can someone on a 7.1 beta build test something for me?
When on 7.1, if we use a Citrix Published IE (v6 – don’t ask!) and visit http://www.gftu.org after about 2 minutes the session will disconnect. In the event log of the client I then see “ICA: read error 0 from ica_frame_recv”. Just wondering if other people get the same error.
Cheers
James
September 19, 2011 at 11:31 pm #21074Hi, running IE v8 published app on XenApp 5 (Win2003). Site has been up for over 5 minutes without crashing.
Sorry i don’t have a server with IE6 available.September 20, 2011 at 7:29 am #21079I don’t have IE6 on our Citrix environment, but we have also no problems with IE8.
September 21, 2011 at 8:59 pm #21086Thanks aLie and karmakoma. Appreciate your time. Could be IE6 issue – running Xenapp 5 on w2k3 also.
