First of all, this forum is great. We just purchased a V10L and are testing it’s limits to see how it will fit in our organization. And this forum has made trouble shooting much easier. Thanks!
On to the problem.
I have setup our DHCP and FTP and everything is working fine.
My cable just arrived to test out dual monitors. Hooked it up and changed the wnos.ini to enable dual heads.
To clarify, this is the Male DVI Y cable that splits off one DB15 and one DVI.
The monitor connected to the DB15 cable works giving me the second half of the screen. and the DVI portion doesn’t even activate the light on the monitor to green.So to eliminate everything but the V10L, I set everything to default and unplugged the network cable to see if I could get both screens to come up.
No luck.Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Wade
January 15, 2008 at 12:05 am #11347I think I figured it out, the cable splits the DVI into two ports. a VGA and DVI.
I was trying to use the VGA port and then use a DVI to VGA adapter to change the DVI port to a VGA also. This does not work.
You must use the DVI as DVI, the WYSE adapter will not change it to VGA after the splitter. If this makes any sense at all. 🙄
I’m surprised that I could not find this in any of WYSE’s documentation. It might be there, but I couldn’t find it.

January 15, 2008 at 12:09 am #11348Hi Wade,
Great, you got it going! There is a doc on this in the Wyse Knowledgebase on this however you have to go digging. You should also install the Multi Display software on the server so the apps will maximise to each window – not across the entire two screens,
Cheers,
-TTJanuary 15, 2008 at 10:35 pm #11364I have searched for this Multi Display software to load on one of my servers and I cannot for the life of me locate it in the KB of wyse.com. could you supply a link to where I could find this? Many thanks in advance.
January 15, 2008 at 10:38 pm #11365TT That software works great thanks for the heads up.

January 18, 2008 at 12:23 am #11386So just to clarify since I’ve read several posts on the subject and not all are consistent:
with
Seamless=on
Dualhead=on
Wyse Multi Head Support software installed and enabledSeamless published applications launched directly from the V10L through PNAgent treat the two monitors as a single desktop and as such will ONLY maximize across BOTH monitors. Additionally, all msgs and pop ups will center between the two monitors with no way to adjust the default position. Also the MHS software is gaining me exactly NOTHING because I’m launching published apps and not a full desktop.
The only workaround is to launch a full desktop with the MHS software installed on the server(s) and then apps executed in that desktop session “should” maximize to only a single monitor.
Wyse may or may not be working on a resolution to this problem.
Am I correct?
January 18, 2008 at 2:21 am #11387That shouldn’t be happening. If seamless published applications are launched directly on the V10L they should have monitor awareness regardless whether or not you have MHA/MDS installed and enabled on the server. I did have an issue with a very early 5.2.x release of the firmware where monitor awareness was completely broken, but that was resolved in subsequent releases. This issue also occured if you are running your published apps from Presentation Server 4.5 R01 with a firmware revision earlier than 6.0.0_21.
What firmware revision does your V10L unit have? What version of Presentation Server are you launching your apps from?
As for messages and dialog boxes coming up in the middle of two screens, I’ve not been able to resolve this issue completely with published apps.
January 18, 2008 at 2:14 pm #11390Hi ChrisFricke,
I have just tested this with my V10L and 6.1.05 firmware.
Works perfect.CG
January 18, 2008 at 4:46 pm #11393V10L firmware is 6.0.1.04 (bios is 1.12) running apps from a 4.5 R01 Presentation Server.
Looks like I should try updating the firmware to 6.1.05 except all I see on the downloads area of Wyse is a couple variations of 5.2. This V10L is a test unit so I’m in the learning stages still…
Thanks for the feedback thus far!
Chris
January 18, 2008 at 6:21 pm #11394Update: With firmware 6.1.05 connecting to a 4.5 R01 Presentation server using PNAgent launched seamless published apps, the applications are monitor aware when maximized!!

Now on to the next issue…
Thanks,
