    Hello,

We are looking to re-image our D90D7 thin clients to utilize ThinOS instead of WES7 now that we have got ThinOS working for our needs. I used the USB tool to pull an image from a D10D but upon pushing to the D90D7 I encountered an error stating mismatch between security key of device and security key in XML file on the image I am pushing. I am under the impression ThinOS is not tied to a product key, is there a way to convert these so we can avoid spending money just to order thin clients with a different OS?

No way other than using an official conversion kit which is no longer sold by Dell.

We bought the license for the Wyse converter to ThinOS we have more than 300 Wyse D90D7 but I don’t see OS for this Model!! when I tried to do exactly as “bnorsten” did I get an error message:

Error while validating security key. (error code:233)

Please review the following  reason may be Error while validating security key. (error code:233)

    -Eeprom validation

    – Mismatch between Security key of device and security key present in the XML file of image package.

    – Check if you are trying to deploy correct image for the intended platform. Re-register the correct image package.

You bought a Conversion kit for WEs-to-ThinOS? Normally we do not sell this anymore.
If you get a security key error, then something is wrong with the conversion kit. Could be that it is not for the platform you want to use it for, eg. D90 instead of 3030
