    Hello,

The problem we’re having is that the change device information feature, reboot button & shutdown button are simply not working. Wake on Lan though is working…

We’re running WDM 4.9 (previously 4.9.1, did a clean install to try to fix this issue) on a Windows 2008 R2 Ent virtual server at the moment with several R10L clients that receive their config via wnos file via ftp and the clients are running on image 7.1_207.

Any help would be much appreciated and if you require more information i’ld be glad to give it.

    Thanks in advance….

Do the clients update the “Last checkin date” and boot or after clicking “Refresh Device Info”?

    Hey CG,

I checked the Last Checkin after clicking Refresh Device Information but it didn’t update.

That clearly indicates that the commnucation is not working.
    Firewall enabled?
How did you get the clients show up the first time?

    Firewall is disabled.

Unfortunatly networking isn’t my strong point, and the only reason i think they’re showing up is because the DHCP Proxy is turned on and that somehow registers them in WDM.

How do they normally maintain communication and register in WDM?

Thanks for the help so far & below is my wnos file in case it helps you in any way.

Hey, I think i figured it out. The problem is the version of the firmware combined with the version of WDM.

I played around with it and got 7_1.033 working with WDM 9.0 but for some weird reason I could not get the keyboard into the correct layout.

So i tried upgrading the firmware again to 7.1_122 and changed WDM to 4.9.1. This made me change the ini file because of this:

; If you are using a version of WTOS code < 7.1_133 please use:
    ; RapportDisable= instead of WDMService=

    So i changed RapportDisable=No into WDMService=No….

And after that my WDM stopped communicating. It seems quite obvious now but that’s what they say about hindsight i guess…

I have a different problem now unfortunatly. Sometimes they still don’t register. The following appears in the event log:
Contacting WDM Agent: Open “49.57.50.46;49.54.56.46” failed

I’m pretty sure that means the WDM Agent is trying to connect to a horribly wrong IP. Now i’ld just like to know why and how to fix it.

    Thanks in advance.

Also figured this one out in the meantime. I had my DHCP options a bit messed up. One of the DHCP servers, lets call it DC1 had the Option Tag 186 as a String, while DC2 has the tag in IP Address.
