I am installing some Wyse V10L’s in a remote location. I upgraded the firmware to 6.1.0_08. Now it can’t see the FTP Server.

On the FTP server, I have the WNOS.ini file in 4 different locations. One for each of the time zone here in the US. In the DHCP scope options, I have 161 as the FTP server and 162 different on each individual scope, depending on what time zone they are in. For Example in our home office in Memphis, we are in the Central Time zone. So, in the Memphis scope, i have 162 with a string of /central/. It has been working up until now.

    What am I doing wrong?

Not sure why it decided to suddenly not work, but check the FTP site permissions, the account used on FTP site, that the account hasn’t been disabled by any chance and make sure the units have the same account. Check the directory where the wnos.ini file as well. From my experience, those were the major problems i had with the error. Hope it helps 🙂

Well, it turns out that is has to do with the Avaya VOIP switch that these run through. This happened earlier and I believe ConfGen pointed me in the right direction.

I had to go into the Avaya switch and disable the STP (Spanning Tree Protocol). Once that was disabled, everything worked fine.

    Thanks.
