Hi, 🙂
When I try to install Rapport 4.4.1 with the Enterprise license key on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise (Active Directory) Machine, during the installation process when Rapport was verifying FTP Server an error comes that, “FTP verification failed with the supplied credentials please ensure that the user name and password are correct and the FTP server is online and properly configured.†that is why Rapport doesn’t install.
Can anyone help me regarding this error?Annu. 8)
June 17, 2006 at 9:06 am #8683Have a look at the build doc for Rapport on this site. Also try running this file here before the installation:
http://www.freewysemonkeys.com/downloads/rap441hotfix/HF04041020005.zip
This small file has no GUI and will simply move the ftp port to the end of the c:windowssystem32driversetcservices file and back up the old services file.
Good Luck!

I am running into the same issue trying to upgrade 4.4.1 to 4.5.1. I called tech support and they said to try the patch that was posted above, but I already had. Anybody got other ideas?
March 14, 2007 at 4:48 am #9240In your existing 4.4.1 setup right click on the Master Software Repository and select test connection. Did this work? IF not re-set the password for the local Rapport user and on the repository and try the upgrade again.
Take a backup first as I have seen a few upgrades fail leaving no WDM server left.
Cheers,
-TTApril 2, 2007 at 9:32 am #9379I’m installing Rapport 4.4 to a Windows 2000 server and I updated the server with SP4. I also get the same error message when running the Rapport setup. What could be the problem???
April 4, 2007 at 2:50 am #9381Hi,
If you are installing the older 4.4.1 check this article out and have a look at the Rapport 4.4.1 Build Document:
http://www.freewysemonkeys.com/site/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=32
If you are upgrading from 4.4x to 4.5.1 there are some that are seeing a ftp verification error cropping up.

May 25, 2010 at 8:04 am #18407Hi,
Also having the same problem with fresh install of WDM 4.7.2 on Win Srv 2003.
When I try to install, I get error message “FTP verification failed with the supplied credentials please ensure that the user name and password are correct and the FTP server is online and properly configured” and the installation stops.
I have checked that user rapport appears to local users and become a member of administrators. Also cheked FTP Settings and proper function of it.
I just was wondering if an existing installation/usage of FTP with same server conflicts with this install?May 25, 2010 at 9:42 am #18408Can you login to your FTP server with user rapport from a PC? Are you directly redirected then to the folder /rapport ?

May 26, 2010 at 5:35 am #18423I can login to FTP with user rapport, but it doesn’t get redirected to folder rapport. BTW: I checked that there’s no such folder under FTPRoot. Should installation create it, or should I create it manually?
May 26, 2010 at 9:26 pm #18430Log in again as user rapport and try to create a folder like “test”. After that delete it again.
– mkdir test
– rm testDoes this work?
The folder rapport will be created by the WDM install.

May 31, 2010 at 5:34 am #18454Okay, yes I can make and delete folder with those credentials – but installation still fails… Any ideas what I can try next?
June 1, 2010 at 3:51 pm #184641. Verify FTP access from command line
a. If this fails to login, then check the FTP settings and user permissions
b. If success, then try moving the FTP entries in the ‘Service’ file
i. C:windowssystem32driversetcservice
1. Open with Notepad.exe
2. Find entries for FTP and move to bottom of list
c. If it continues to fail, load DebugView.exe
i. When error appears review output in Debug Log
1. Look for any entries regarding FTP connectionCG
June 4, 2010 at 11:49 am #184771. Yes I can access FTP from command line
2. Moved FTP entries to bottom of the list
c. Installation failed again -> loaded Debug View and output viewed and this is what I get at the end:[4748] Connect STR.
[4748] OpenDatabase :: COM ERROR.
[4748] Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers : [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified in ADODBHandler ::OpenDatabase() function
[4748] ADO: RemoveModule->Database function Open FAILED in RemoveModule()
[4748]
[4748] SOFTWAREWyseurlRedirectionSession-0As far as I checked, all entries regarding FTP are ok.
June 9, 2010 at 4:02 pm #18515The posted DebugView log is just about database. Nothing about FTP?
