That did it. They are now PXE booting.

My only problem now is that I can’t push or pull an image. I’m not sure what the Product should be for the script. I’m guessing 7V72 but that fails. They show up in the console as Viance but there isn’t a folder for that in the ToolsSA directory.

I don’t see anything but then I’m not sure how to get to the boot screen where I can see what’s happening, all I get is the Wyse screen.

I’m fairly new to Wyse terminals, I’ve only really managed the Wyse OS and I’m struggling to find information on them.

I’ve installed Wireshark and can see that the DHCP Request from the Viance doesn’t include options 66 and 67 so I’m guessing that PXE isn’t enabled on them.

I’ve shut down all other PXE servers and still the Viances are showing as not PXE capable.

Running netmon on the WDM server shows the DHCP discover to port 67 and a response from our DHCP server but I don’t see any responses from the WDM server.

The DHCP Proxy is started so I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong.

The Viance devices are showing up in the console as not being “imageable”. I’m assuming there’s something wrong PXE wise. I have DHCP scope options 186 and 187 set and the terminals are registering in WDM OK.

Do I need other options such as 60/67/68? We already have these set for Citrix Provisioning server.

Thanks for that info. Using a one off WNOS.INI would definitely be a possibility. Just one last question, what if the S10 would be sitting behind a proxy server? Can it be configured to use a proxy – I can’t see anything in the documentation.

I’m thinking I’m going to be better off going with the Windows CE version which has IE and all the settings that go with it available.

    Thanks.

    Brilliant, thanks very much.

I would just like to confirm one last thing:

My plan would be to configure a fault tolerant PNLite Server list using the DHCP option 181 – is this just a comma separated list? Also, what happens if the first server in the list is unavailable, will the terminal automatically go to the next server in the list?

    Thanks.
