I had a problem like this when I upgraded to 8.6 because I had an advanced line stating no analog jack pop up. After the upgrade to 8.6 the audio settings under general settings on the WMS server had that audio jack radio button checked by default so the 3040s were caught in a boot loop. Might not be your problem but you could check for something like that in your advanced lines.
Yes it fixed my issue with the cursor disappearing.
The ports are different sizes the 3030s power supply won’t fit into the 3040s.
Yes. It been happening since we put them in a couple of years ago but really didn’t notice it much because there weren’t that many 3040s most of our carts were 3030s but we swapped them out with 3040s because of some wireless issues. After the swap out we started getting calls every day or almost everyday. Like I said some times it happens but most of the time they turn right back on.
Yes. I have actually went into the bios on the thin client and confirmed. The other techs I work with have done the same and told me it was on in the bios and the thin client didn’t turn on when the cart was plugged in.
Currently 1.2.5. I just upgraded it a few weeks ago. I have also noticed another weird power thing with on 3040s. If you have a powered usb hub plugged in it can stop the thin client from rebooting sometimes. I’ve actually pulled out the power adapter cable and the power button stayed on until I unplugged the USB.
Hello,
My organization is currently experiencing the mouse arrow disappearing also after the 8.6_024 firmware update but it is only disappearing over one app we use. It is happening on all 5 of our thin client models 3010, 3020, 3030, 3040 and 5070s and only in our XenDesktop environments. I did discover that turning on mouse trails in the session allows you to see the arrow if that helps anyone. I currently have a ticket open with Dell I will update this when I find something out.
We are seeing this behavior at one of our clinics. Brand new 3040s and P2419H monitors and I contacted my Dell reps and they said that it was an issue at another location in the midwest. I was given an early release ThinOS and bios to test last week. You may want to contact your Dell representative and hopefully they can help.
Thanks for the idea. I will let you know if it works.
Maybe I did not explain this correctly. The thin client would not have a config because it has been factory reset and connected to any WNOS.ini file. Is there to remote to ThinOS and type in a new ftp path?
