    Hello all,

I have a quick question. I have just taken receipt of 10 V10Ls and have got them working without issue on my Windows 2000 domain & Citrix PS4.0 farm. I only have one issue. Time Source.

Other than editing the bios and setting the time, what else does everyone else do for a time source? We currently have no time syncs with the internet and the firewall stops all udp traffic. What to do?

Anyone got any ideas on what to use as a time source internally?

    Thanks

    Hi,

you should do a quick search in the MS KB. You can configure your Windows Server as a time server.

    Correct,

If you have a Windows Domain the domain controller will be the time server. If its a 2003 AD domain use the PDC emulator as the time source. Also if you have a Cisco router in your network these are easy to set up as time servers,

    Thanks Everyone,

I currently only have a Win2k domain. Win2k3 domain is still a little time away.

I have tried using a W2k domain controller as a time source with not much luck, generally using CE based devices. Got to love those 3200LE, 3125se and 3150 devices!!!

I will try it again with Thin OS and see what I get.

    Thanks again.

    Anthony

P.S. think thin, we will have to catch up at some time in the new year!

    Hi Anthony,

Ahh, win2k – no problem where a 2003 PDC Emulator sets it’s self up as a Authoritative timeserver as default you had to turn this on in a 2000 AD controller. Its easy to do and you should have one AD 2000 server authoritative time server for the domain anyway:

As for a catching up – that would be cool!

    Cheers,
