I am trying to redirect a USB DVD drive attached to a 5010 model running firmware 8.4.  I am using the PCoIP protocol and connecting to a 2012 R2 RDS Server.  Not having any success.

The device is showing up correctly when I connect to a Windows 10 virtual machine.

Is this a limitation of a Server 2012 R2 RDS servers?

Could you try to change MapDisks=yes to MapDisks=no

    As a site note:
When you are using OneSignServer then you do not need any parameters for VDIBroker or ConnectionBroker, as this is handle from the OneSignServer site.

I have tried your suggestion of changing the mapdisks setting from yes to no.  Still not able to access the drive.

Responding to your side note:  I am aware that the parameters are handled via the onesign server.  When we originally set it up, we had issues and I left the parameters in as a backup. 🙂

Do you see in the eventlog a message like “Register CD-ROM on D:”?
Tested this in my environment and DVD drive mapped fine.

When you connect to the broker and RDS server, do you see “D: unregistered” in the event log?

Are there any settings I might be missing in VMware View or on the 2012 R2 RDS server?  Any places I should be looking on the OS?

As I haven’t made any special settings, I would say no.
