I updated a 3010 to ThinOS 8.6 (versions _013 & _019), and had issues when connecting to an RDSH running Windows 2016.

With version (_013), a black screen would display and the 3010 would freeze.  The only option was to recycle the power.

With version (_019), a black screen would display with an orange rectangle, and then the 3010 would freeze.  Again, the only option was to recycle the power.

Downgrading to 8.3 made the 3010 work normally.

    Any ideas?

    Post your INI file.

Basically, there is no wtos.ini file.  For testing, there is no FTP server and configuration is set manually.

Are the settings which you recommend adding to address the issue?

We had the exact same problem (black screen on 8.6_013, orange rectangle on 8.6_019 when connecting to Win2016 RDSH on vSphere 6), an reverted to 8.4_112 to correct it.

    Sorry, I didn’t keep screenshots.

Firmware 8.6_019 works OK on the same servers with 3040 units.

I’m having the same issue with my 3010/t10 units.   updated from 8.3_014 to 8.6_024 and now when i log into our Win 2012 R2 RDSH servers i get an orange rectangle and the unit crashes (connection drops, becomes unresponsive).  RDS session is still up and running though so it’s connecting fine.  tried 8.6_019 and same result.  downgrading to 8.5_024 seems to be the last version that allows me to connect via RDP without crashing.

Should note i’m also using WMS to connect, not wnos.ini.

    Just to follow-up:

Based on recent testing, here are the firmware versions which work with Windows 2019 RDS:

    – T10 (3010): 8.5.024 (newer versions cause problems – orange box or black screen with WYSE freeze)
    – T10D (3020): 8.6.024
    – 3040: 8.6.024

just tested out v 8.6.027 (uploaded 7/26/2019) to a T10 (3010) unit and was able to connect without it freezing or getting the orange square on login screen.

The problem was solved by the new Firmware.

    Thank you

Yes, 8.6.027 seems to have resolved that issue.

However, screen refreshes seem to be considerably slower than with 8.5.024, so I downgraded back to 8.5.024.

When using 8.6.027 and running Office 365 programs, there’s some lag as screen changes paint on the screen.  With 8.5.024, screen changes pop up quickly.

    Anyone else notice this issue?

I have the same issue here but even with the latest firmware 8.6_027, people can login but at tome point a rectangle came and the thin client freezes. Even the power button doesn’t work.

And yes, I noticed the screen refresh very slow.
