Hello… we have one local printer we need to set up for a Wyse client to redirect to Citrix.  The redirection aspect seems to be working as I can see the printer in Citrix but the name shows as a driver and it has a yellow exclamation mark.

Everything I see says to change the “Printer Identification” in the Wyse to the printer driver in Citrix but I am unable to do that as the printer driver name seems to exceed the maximum character length for the box in ThinOS.  I also tried to change the ID to a HP Universal Print Driver which is a driver name we have installed but it won’t pick that one up either.

Can someone point me to what I am missing?

    Thanks.

If the printer driver name is too long for ThinOS, you can use a printer definition file.
Just create a text file which lists the alias to the real name.

MyPrinter HP LaserJet4 XPC 12345 whatever

Save that file next to your wnos.ini and add
    PrinterMap=map.txt
    to your wnos.ini.
Now you can use “MyPrinter” as the value for your Printer ID field.

I added the printer mapping to WMS.  My printer.txt  is set for :

    “Citrix”=”Citrix Universal Printer”

I changed the Printer Name and Printer ID in ThinOS to Citrix

This is just a test to see that it should actually change the driver but it doesn’t work.  It still shows in Citrix with the wrong driver and yellow exclamation.  The driver in printer.txt matches exactly the driver name I have in Citrix but it won’t change.

    What else am I missing?

    Thanks.

Any you have also added the reference to the printer.txt file in the Policy?

I believe I have it right.  I have the following in WMS :

And the text file looks like :

    “Citrix”=”Citrix Universal Printer”

And the Wyse terminal looks like :

    Port:LPT1

    Printer Name: Citrix

    Printer Identification: Citrix

    Printer Class: PCL5

    Enable Printer Device = Checked

I’m still having trouble with this… any ideas of what I’m missing?

    Thanks.
