Mapping a mobile phone as a disk via RDP protocol

    Hi,

    It is possible to map a mobile phone (e.g. Samsung Xcover 3 with android 5.1.1) as a disk via RDP protocol? I would like to copy photos from it.

    I have R10L (WTOS 8.3_014) from which I connect to windows 2016 Server via RDP.

    With the upcoming 8.4_009 firmware this should be possible.
    I’ve heard that ThinOS has now the MTP protocol implemented for RDP which is needed in your case.
    Let’s us know if this works for you.
    Planned release is June 22nd.

    hello,
    i use RDPUSB PROTOCOL with the phone Android, MTP can’t work but PTP works well,

    I have test the beta Fimrware D10 v8.4.009 and the MTP works well, it’s very good news !

    Hello Dawid,

    Contact your dealer for maintenance
    Once your code has been obtained you will have to create an account on dell digital locker and activate maintenance by your code
    You will then have access to firmware download and support

    I tested 5 phones: Samsung B2710, Samsung XCOVER 550, Samsung Galaxy Ace 3, Samsung Galaxy Prim and Apple Iphone

    It is necessary to activate the TCX redirection protocol (SessionConfig=RDP USBRedirection=TCX)

    How can I enable RDPUSB protocol? (it works ony on WTOS 8.4?) I have WTOS 8.3

    Put this in your wnos.ini :

    -SessionConfig=RDP USBRedirection=RDP

    in your phone choise PTP (not MTP)

    On the futur firmware 8.4

    SessionConfig=RDP USBRedirection=TCX

    or

    SessionConfig=RDP USBRedirection=RDP

    MTP works fine

    have you in ini file?:
    VUSB_DISKS=yes
    and
    MapDisks=yes

    Are these entries needed to map phone (I have Apple iPhone and Samsung Xcover 4)?

    I contacted my supplier to purchase WTOS Software Maintenance 1YR but I have been waiting 2 weeks and for now nothing is known

    I read but I do not see R10L there.

    But in another topic on this forum someone wrote that it had a beta version available for R10L.
