Tagged: webcam RDP ThinOS
Hi all
After much struggling, I managed to get my Logitech C930e working on a 3040 (Thinos 8.6_710) connecting with RDP to Windows 10 Pro as the host. I used a forced redirect in the form of Device=vusb ForceRedirect=0x0735,0x0269,0xef,0x02,0x01 (that may not be the exact ids – I have tried four webcams)
It’s either sound or camera from the c930 – but not both. Others have mentioned this.
When I go to Skype Audio and Video settings, the picture is about 4 seconds behind real-time and there can be a few visual artifacts. I don’t get this using RDP from a Windows client – only the thin client causes problems. I am guessing it’s because of the volume of data being passed over the network because its a USB redirect.
Is there anything I can do about it? Lowering the webcam resolution somehow, or using some kind of local/native redirect? My research on this isn’t getting me far!
Thanks in advance.
