Yes it shows up there. It also kind of works in the session but with 9.1 the image quality is bad.
Yep, its listed along with integrated camera in peripherals.
[2021-07-23 19:55:36.847] N/system_daemon /system (636/35386) USB: Leica Microsystems Leica ICC50 W Camera vid:0x1711 pid:0x301a connected
So going back to USB redirection. What settings need to be set? Does the Enable USB Redirection need to be off completely? I tried this and not only the microscope but integrated camera stops passing through.
Perhaps there is another setting somewhere? I have not dealt with WMS before so possible I missed something.
With USB redirection fully off or the Video redirection disabled cameras do not pass into the session. Are you only referring to options for Local / Redirect?
This is for proprietary microscope software. It worked better in 8.6. Also in 8.6 there was an option to set resolution in thin os config. That seems to be gone now.
I am using Citrix. And yes with 9 the cam did not work at all. But this issue is with 8.6.
When the resolution is set high the desktop crashes. Maybe we can lower it via the Citrix desktop.
Has anyone found the answer to this? Having similar issues with 5070 AIO and custom USB camera device. The settings from wnos.ini are ignored
January 6, 2021 at 8:27 pm in reply to: Issues with 8.606 and IP filtering on Citrix Desktop Groups #54055Nevermind, the test system was behind NAT. Needed both ip addresses in the policy.
Did you ever find resolution? I am seeing similar issue on 8.606 except I cannot even launch desktop. The issue only happens if the desktop group has IP filtering enabled.
VUSB_VIDEO=no did it.
So everything is fully working on 3040:
1. Integrated P2418HZ monitor webcam passes into Citrix session as HDX using
VUSB_VIDEO=no string under sessionconfig all
2. The HDX redirected webcam actually works in a browser using 32-bit ver of Google Chrome (main answer to the initial question).
3. Integrated monitor speaker works using device=audio playback=”LPEDP Audio” record=”P2418HZ” dpaudio=yes. This also sets monitor integrated webcam as default recording device.
4. The actual mic maps into the Citrix session as HDX using vusb_audio=no
Finally, processor matters as 3020’s cannot provide workable webcam resolution via HDX or direct USB redirection. Also direct USB redirection did not provide good experience on 3040 at least with webcams that I tested.
HUGE thanks to you guys brian and ConfGen!
Its set up for HDX I believe – I am currently using your string in test.
ondesktop=desktops PasswordExpireNotify=yes HttpUserAgent=”” ClientName=”” AudioQuality=high DiskMapTo=”” DesktopMode=fullscreen SessionReliability=yes USBRedirection=hdx HDXFlashUseFlashRemoting=Always HDXFlashEnableServerSideContentFetching=Enabled EnableRTME=yes FlipByTimer=0
SessionConfig=all \
unmapprinters=no unmapserials=no smartcards=yes disablesound=no mapdisks=yes disksreadonly=no unmapusb=no VUSB_DISKS=yes VUSB_AUDIO=yes VUSB_PRINTER=yes VUSB_VIDEO=no MultiMonitor=yes FullScreen=yes ondesktop=desktopsThe thing about 3040 it has an onboard SST audio which maps as default audio and record device. I fixed the playback by using this string:
device=audio playback=”LPEDP Audio” record=”device=audio playback=”LPEDP Audio” record=”P2418HZ” dpaudio=yes” dpaudio=yes
Now it plays on DP speaker, I cant get the microphone to show up as recording device though. The P2418HZ is what it comes up on audio dialog within Wyse, and testing from wyse it works. Just does not carry over to Citrix.
So 3020 is not going to work looks like. The HDX is now redirecting, however at any reasonable resolution the wyse CPU spikes to 100 percent and the FPS drops to single digits.
The max I got out of 3040 with monitor integrated webcam is 20fps at 640 – which is very usable.
Only issue remaining is microphone not mapping into the Citrix session. This may have something to do with 3040 having an onboard SST Audio device. The mic I am using is integrated into the monitor and webcam.
Found the problem. The 64 bit Chrome does not work with webcams unless you have specific Receiver ver. Installing 32bit fixed the issue. Now HDX redirection is working. Just need to test some more with higher resolutions.
Thanks for your help brian!

OK, the web browser is probably the problem. The app that users need to use for the webcam is web-based, hence I was testing with Chrome. I keep getting access to camera denied from web based camera testing apps when using HDX redirect.
The preview on the Wyse clients works no problem using multiple devices even the low end ones and various cams.
I wonder if there is a way around the browser limitation? Currently using XenDesktop 1903 and Wyse 8.6
is there a way to get native redirection working?
Thanks for getting back to me.
I have also tried on 3040 which has an intel processor but still unable to get HDX redirection to work.
Direct redirection works using Logitech 9000 but the performance is still very poor – around 4-5 FPS max.
The only combo I was able to get to work are the all in ones with built in cam, but even on those HDX redirection does not work and max FPS I was able to get out of direct USB redirection was 10fps.
Is there anything I can look into within the config file?
