    Update on what I’m seeing in Event Viewer;

    Looks like it’s trying to register the device on a drive mapping but failing for some reason. The device does show in explorer on the drive letter but remains inaccessible.

    I’m running a similar setup albeit slightly behind;

    Devices: WYSE 3040
    ThinsOS ver.: 8.6.027
    BIOS: 1.2.4
    Horizon: 5.1.19052918
    ESX ver.: ESX 6.5 Update 1
    Horizon enviroment: Horizon 7.7
    Protocol: Blast

    Not seeing the same issues, is rolling back an option at all?

    Hi CG,

    I’ve been playing with it, without much luck. Thought it could be related to USB redirection and 027 so I’ve rolled back to 019 but no luck.

    The event log shows;

    FS:cd rom register fail error=0

    Can get it to pull through via Windows, just no luck with ThinOS. Seems to always be the case with ThinOS being overly complicated when trying to configure USB redirection

    Could you post your config? Interested to see what your USB redirect settings are set to. I can get it to pull through but it doesn’t seem to read any media at all for me.

    Hi Tiemun, did you ever get this resolved? Having the same issue (albeit with VMware View) with Wyse 3040 and CD/DVD devices redirecting the remote desktop.

    All seeing FS: cd-rom register fail, errno=0

    Feel your pain Doug, really do. Thankfully only a handful of my users need to use it so I’ve just created a new device group for them, moved the terminals into it, and set the app policy and firmware update to roll back to our previous release.

    Just adding some more weight to this. Rolled out 027 and users soon reported issues with the card readers no longer working.

    Rolled back to 019 and they are working again.

    Out of interest, what version of ThinOS are you running and are you configuring your terminals via WMS, or WNOS.ini files?

    Hi Martin40,

    We’ve also got the same card readers from the bank but they simply don’t like to redirect consistently when using ThinOS for us. The keyboards work fine which is fine for now but having to use such a legacy solution is painful.

    Same here. I’ve had a support ticket with Dell for the better part of 2 years and they’ve recently dropped the note that they don’t support JVDI on ThinOS and VMWare View.

    I’ve ran into similar issues, ended up getting a few of these in for use;

    Does the job nicely.

    Does the pkg show as loaded/installed on the device? How are you managing the device?

    I’ve have a similar setup but using BLAST instead of PCOIP, microphone quality is poor at best.
