What are those vulnerabilities exactly ?
Leaving a file server with Write access to everyone makes you vulnerable ?
This is not a vulnerability, this is common sense…
Are we sure that WMS server is more secure than widely used well secured http servers & dhcp servers.
Please find below the RDP configuration :
SessionConfig=RDP DefaultColor=2 USBRedirection=RDP EnableNLA=yes EnableRFX=yes enablerecord=yes AutoDetectNetwork=no wallpaper=yes Theme=yes
SessionConfig=ALL mapdisks=yes smartcards=yes VUSB_DISKS=yes VUSB_AUDIO=no VUSB_VIDEO=yes DisableSound=0
up…
Maybe I’m on the wrong path by redirecting USB webcam using low level redirection (RemoteFX). I assume it is, because this redirection thing is somehow confusing ; same term for different ways and different protocol for “redirecting” things)
So, are there different ways of redirecting a webcam through RDP ?
December 18, 2020 at 8:35 am in reply to: Wyse clients & Citrix – USB or audio jack headsets? #53865Hi,
I’ve had some cases where the Wyse would not switch the default microphone to USB. It was possible to do it manually though, but a that’s a burden to explain users how to do that
USB device control buttons (Mute +/-) may not be taken into account in the session (We’re on RDP)
Jack is the safe way. If you want to go for USB, test it before.
Juste in case, Sennheiser SC75 can do both…
Thanks ! What would we do without you and your site..?
My users reports D10D regular crashing on Zoom meeting w/ USB camera.
I’ve not been able to reproduce. (We’re on RDP, btw)
What could you advice to investigate ?
Applying a “Merlin” update would help, by updating the USB stack ?
OK, I’ve googled “OS_Web_v8.6_511_5070_5470AIO_5470_PCoIP_ENG” and found a the page.
PX10_wnos embeded in a “raw” package, of course. You bet.
December 11, 2020 at 9:37 am in reply to: RDP – certificate authority is invalid or incorrect #53812It works. Thanks a lot !

December 10, 2020 at 8:33 am in reply to: Wyse ThinOS 5070 – RemoteApp from Windows 2008R2 Terminal Server #53774This is where that “broker” things sucks. Especially if you move to Windows 2016 / 2019 where you’re driven to create a deployment etc…
It’s not straightforward to keep things simple (but it’s possible. You can add the RDSH role to your servers, then you can edit the registry manually to create your RemoteApps)
When you servers are Virtualized, which is most likely nowadays, the “high availability” is delegated to the underlying virtualization infrastructure. I don’t need a broker, unless I would need “ultra high availability”. In that latter case you must evidently have two redundant brokers. Making things even more complex.
Yes, other cams are OK, so the problem is probably not the configuration. Rather a codec not going through a RDP channel.
I know that this cam is not part of the supported ones.
Given the current shortage of many of cams, having such a limited list for Dell-Wyse is not fair.
Could it possible to know what makes a supported one and / or what makes it not supported?
When I plug this one to a Windows 10 PC, this particular one is driven by usbvideo.inf / usbvideo.sys. Does not look exotic…
The doc says that is it using YUY2 compression codec.
November 30, 2020 at 8:24 am in reply to: USB Camera. “The device could not start. (code 10)” #53647Hi,
My devices are 5010 (D10D) and 5070.
ThinOS 8.6.303
Redirection as below :
SessionConfig=RDP DefaultColor=2 USBRedirection=RDP EnableNLA=yes EnableRFX=yes enablerecord=yes AutoDetectNetwork=no wallpaper=yes Theme=yes
SessionConfig=ALL mapdisks=yes smartcards=yes VUSB_DISKS=yes VUSB_AUDIO=no VUSB_VIDEO=yes DisableSound=0
Our servers are hosting 10/15 users (full desktop with the Memory hogs : Firefox / Thunderbird).
They have 14 vCPU / 32 GB RAM. No GPU. Unfortunately not available in Oracle VM (Xen flavor).
I guess that if all users were using Zoom at the same time we would have CPU problems. OTHO Network Bandwidth requirement is surprisingly low. <1Mb / Zoom session.
Zoom is OK (audio /video ) over bare-bone RDP to W2019 RDSH.
We had a few crashs of 5010s. Seem OK on 5070. (both are running ThinOS 8.6)
We’re missing camera adjustment from within the W2019 session.
We can change resolution and frame rate on the Wyse but it is not propagated to the RDP sesssion. Once the RDP session is open the “camera” tab of the ThinOS is greyed out and the camera is at max resolution. So, don’t use 4k cameras…
When the RDP session is open (W2019 RDSH), then the Camera tab is greyed out and don’t thing any of the preset parameters is used. I can’t see any difference (using Zoom.us)
