    Hi,

    Thank you for your input.
Jim, the problem is that after I have upgraded the firmware to 9.1, I can not reach the device´s 8.6 policy menu, only the 9.1 which does not have this setting. Any idea, how I can reach the 8.6 menu, or remove all settings in the devices 8.6 policy?

FV, thank you, I shall try this. It is a little more work, and a bit disruptive for the production environment, but it might still be the best solution.

    Regards,
    jqm

    Hi,

    Ok, thank you!
This case does not exactly match my issue, unfortunately.

For me, the WYSE client (3040 or 5070) with ThinOS 9.1.5067 revert back to the factory default hostname after reboot, even though I do not move it from the policy group that is assigned by means of DHCP. The only thing I do is to assign a new hostname in WMS.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Hi,

We have the same problem with our 3040’s and 9.1.5067 – very frustrating!

So there a ticket created with Dell regarding this?

After much troubleshooting, we have now found the cause of the issue. Microsoft have released a security patch regarding CVE-2021-33764. This security fixed broke our connection to RD broker with smartcard from Dell ThinOS both on 8.6 and 9.1.

Microsoft have provided a temporary mitigation that allow devices that do not follow section 3.2.1 of RFC 4556 spec as required for CVE-2021-33764 and we have confirmed that when we do this temporary mitigation it works connecting to the broker again.

    July 27, 2021—KB5005394 (OS Build 17763.2091) Out-of-band (microsoft.com)

So it seems like the Dell WYSE 3040 is not compliant and hopefully a permanent fix will be released soon. We have a ticket open with Dell regarding this.
